NAMES OF Corrupt ‘ELEMENTS’ To Be Released And Made Public Tuesday 11/15

The preliminary names of people suspected to have been involved in corrupt practices will be released and made public.
Inspector General Police Dr Martin Malama said and disclosed this Saturday 11/12 in Lusaka that names will be made public on all those who have been involved in corruption and abuse of authority.
Dr Malama said the preliminary names will not be the final names as investigations are still on going.
He said the names of the suspects will be released on Tuesday 11/15.
President Michael SATA recently directed Zambia Police Inspector General to investigate all forms of corruption and bring forward culprits so that they are dealt with. The President said the nation stinks of corruption.
This follows the President’s pronouncement of him being ‘Allergic To Corruption’.

Am sure the IG has got better data than us mere commentators. So I would rather we give investigative wings of govt,a chance to work.We should also realize that Police have a task to investigate if they suspect anything from anyone. For your own information, the word Corruption is just a generic term meaning simply,Theft,Stealing,Evil, wickedness,Unfairness, distortion, and anything people call BAD,is corruption. So police are best suited to investigate all these forms. So whatever angle and method we would use to fight it,lets hammer them hard.Actually its good that Police will be involved, because it will be very easy to also check them. The IG is a brand new man.And most of us guys know his passion for Zambia. We even know what he did to JERABOS on CB before becoming IG.So simply put,I think police have got better data than all of us bloggers. We are simply commenting from terraces with very little info. These Pros have got documents evidencing probably all that will appear on this list.I would rather we mention them whether at last they might appear innocent.Besides police can call anyone for quesitioning! So what? Its even possible that all Zambians could be suspects in this corruption fight, but of course the courts would have to prove that.Lets fight it whichever way.

    Inspector General,

You job is to identify crimes committed investigate and establish the facts and appropriate laws broken. You are then to recommend which cases can be prosecuted. Why name and shame?

This to me is an admission of failure. Failure that you can not bring any of these cases to succesful prosecution so instead you just want to namme and shame.

Corruption is the Soliciting of inducement, bribe or fees for performing or awarding Public (or private) contracts. We know that many Civil Servants, Parastatal and private company Executives, procurement officers and other technocrats have made their futures secure in awarding big contracts at inflated values in return for Cash.

If the Inspector General is not arresting anyone, he is merely joerpardising his own investigations. We already know some of them and we will add to his list, if he does not include them.
