The Drug Enforcement Commission-DEC has arrested two female Somalia nationals and a male Tanzanian for drug trafficking.
Misky Muhammed 36 and Abiba Hassan 40 all of Lubuto Township in Ndola on the Copperbelt were arrested together with Salim Said Hizza a Tanzanian national at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport.
The trio has been jointly charged with two Zambian men Roma Zulu 27 and Muma Mwale both of Ndola.
The five suspects were arrested for trafficking in one hundred and fifty nine bundles of Miraa with a total weight of 71.71 Kilograms.
The drugs were concealed in black plastic bags which were hidden in the boot of a BMW car registration number ACM 2011.
Meanwhile DEC has also arrested a Zambian man and a Zimbabwean national for trafficking in 32 grams of morphine.
Eight people have been arrested in past one week for trafficking in different kinds of drugs.

The influx of uncontrolled foreigners in Zambia has contributed to this scourge. Our borders are not well manned and let alone issuing of work permits leaves much to be desired. Especially the named nationals are the soles in our a** especially in Ndola and the sorrounding areas. We need clean ups to be re-introduced.
