WHITSLE-BLOWERS Complain ‘We Get Nothing. We Want MONETARY INCENTIVES To EXPOSE More DUBIOUS DEALS & SCAMS’

WHISTLE BLOWERS in the country have complained on non-monetary rewards when a scam is tipped to them and unearthed and have now called on government to introduce some monetary rewards to them if the country is to see a meaningful mass operation in exposing culprits, Tumfweko has learnt.
In light of what has been unearthed at former labour minister Austin Liato’s Farm, the Whitsle-Blowers have suggested that Law investigative wings through the government provide incentives if they want more big dubious activities unearthed and exposed.
‘We are sure its the workers or somebody close to Liato who may have tipped DEC or ACC. They should offer monetary rewards for people to come forward with concrete information. The FBI uses this method when they put somebody on their most wanted list and this may help expose more scams by leaders in the current and former MMD regime. Unfortunately in Zambia, there is nothing to write home about, ‘ said one whitsle-blower.
In relating to Austin Liato’s ‘Harvest of CASH Crops’ at his farm Friday 11/25, they hinted that one of their underpaid workers might be key in the operation exercise.
‘Motivate them (Whitsle Blowers) and the law enforcement agents will receive more tip offs but of course others may be fake but it will go a long way,’ advised one of the whitsle blowers.
In Zambia, most whitsle blowers are not motivated as many have been left watching from the terraces without a ‘single cob’ to write home about but only benefits those who handle the operations with hefty allowances in their pockets.
Government has since been urged to consider the plea by the Whitsle-Blowers to introduce and have a reasonable monetary reward if more scams are to be exposed.
The whistle-blowers have also called for security assurances from government after a tip off.
