ZAMBIA Shall Remain An INLAND On HOMOSEXUALITY
Recently, homosexuality has been an issue in most developed countries and the head of state in these countries are in dilemma whether to legalize homosexuality or NOT. However, some countries have already legalized it. Besides, the terrifying news is where US senate approves bill to legalize human having sex with animals.
Now we hear this issue of homosexuality echoing in African countries.
Zambia shall remain an inland on the issue of homosexuality. As long as Zambia remains a Christian nation it shall remain faithful to its Christian doctrine. Therefore, the sacrite scriptures shall remain the bases and guide line of our human rights. “I shall rule under the ten commands”; said our president Mr. Sata, a week after his victory of 20/08/11.
We shall stick to our heritage (Christian values) and never shall pass a bill in our parliament to legalize homosexuality. We have lost a lot in our culture due to the so called cultural-globalization but we shall not afford to lose even our own human dignity. A man (Zambian) should not lose his original dignity in the name of human rights by reducing himself to an animal. I don’t want to comment on the United States (US) senate approve of human having sex with animals but I would like to remind every Zambian to stick to their heritage. Zambia has always been a religious nation and we have lived up to those values. Therefore, for Zambians, religion and politics co-exist and we cannot detach these Specifically with regard to Christianity, it was not Dr. FTJ Chiluba (RIP) who made Christianity the religion for Zambia but it was noted even before our independence day. We en-masse adopted the Christian religion and by Christian values shall our nation be guided.
We all know that religion is
personal decision but we
Zambians have en-masse
Christianity and faith is what
has remained personal. Hence,
every investor that comes in
Zambia regardless of his religion
affiliation should know that they
shall not be discriminated but
they should respect our rules.

Martin Mwango you are like a typical *****…. white washing the issue does not remove it from Zambia. Whether or not homosexuality is legalized in Zambia is besides the point. The fact is practicing homosexuals are living and contributing to Zambia’s growth today. If you got your head out of your ass long enough to look you would have noticed this. And what exactly is our heritage? Is it christianity or animist? Remember that Christianity is a recent introduction to Africa and our heritage predates christianity. If your arguement is that we are christian nation you should also remember that this was a declaration by a short-sighted midget thug of a president!
Frankly I would rather see some of you guys take it up the ass than produce all these kids all over the place that you will not support and have no chance in life from the get go!

Get your facts right please. There is no such bill being discussed in the USA senate. Even now there is bone to chew between Democrats and Republicans regarding homosexual rights and rights to marriage etc.
The fact is poeple with homosexual tendencies are in existence and there is no law to stop it. If we are Christian as we say we need to be more accepting.

Not everyone is christian and us christians need to accept and respect that and not impose our faith on others. How has the declaration of Zambia as a christian nation changed anything? The person who made that declaration and his friends were busy stealing, hope his soul rests in peace.

It depends with what we mean by “Zambian culture” and “christian nation”. we need to find concrete arguments on the issue and not to hide in Christianity and culture. This is a practical issue, a reality. But simply saying we are a “christian nation” and that “our culture does not allow such behavior” leaves the argument hanging. even our cultures and our christian values are nothing not until we live by them practically. I am not on either side of the issue. but the fact is we need to FACE the reality and address the issue as it is – a reality happening now. the scriptures tells us that faith without action is dead. Hence our theories if based on ” Zambian tradition” might be more like pies in the sky. tradition gives us light but if we get stuck in that “tradition” we will never grow, we will be stunted!

I don’t think the gays rights have been infrnged in Zambia. Rights go with responsibilty. Homosexuallity may exist in Zambia but it is illegal. It is wrong for the foolish aithists of the west to force us to legalise it, and that is exactly what we are sayinng NO to. It is like them forcing us to legalise adultery.
Let’s not confuse stigma with rights. We will stigmatise the gays because its abnormal for this society, ZAMBIA.

@Jo some are born gay because of having hormones of the opposite sex(they control your sexual orientation). It is a very akward disability and these are the people that rights should accrue to ,like any other disabled person,not those who are gays for money(prostitutes).

Its so disappointing to hear that some people can call for Homosexual bill to be passed through parliament. We should not forget were we are coming from at once. God created a man and a woman and why not a man and a man? or rather a woman and woman? because God saw it fit for a man to have a woman besides him hence their no two ways about it whether Zambia being a Christian nation or not that is an abomination before the creator of the Heavens and earth.
