Government DEMANDS REPORT Over IMMORALITY Which ROCKED Born & Bred AWARDS

The Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and Tourism has written to management at ZNBC requesting for an explanation on what transpired at the Born ‘n’ Bred awards that were held last week on Friday at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
This follows complaints from the public on the rampant abuse of alcohol by underage patrons and the immorality that characterized the awards.
The ministry has also written to the Inspector General of Police, Martin Malama and the National Arts Council (NAC) requesting for a detailed report on what caused the commotion at the awards.
Information minister Given Lubinda told a media briefing this morning that his office has received a number of complaints from members of public on what transpired at the awards.
Mr. Lubinda says ZNBC management should explain the arrangement it entered with the organizers of the awards for the ceremony to be aired live on national television for over five hours.
He says the ministry only wants to find solutions to what transpired during the event so that such does not repeat itself during the next awards.
And Mr. Lubinda has stated that the Patriotic Front government has no intensions of bringing up censorship of any kind to any media organization but states that every citizen should exercise their liberty whilst considering others.
He has since called on all artists in the country to explore their talents in helping to build the nation
And Zambian Association of Musicians (ZAM) president Maiko Zulu has called on government to work in partnership with the arts industry in putting up control measures, which he says have been neglected for a long time.

What is this Christian talk? To start with us each and every law in zambia regulated by bible standards? Second can the decision to be a Christian be made in behalf of someone or by virtue of a declaration?

GOOD MOVE BY GOVERNMENT: Thank you, this is what governance is about – setting standards and regulating the behaviour of citizens based on principles of a nationally acccepted culture of do’s and don’ts. But as others have already said, government cannot do it alone. The first line of defence constitutes MOTHERS, FATHERS, AUNTIES, UNCLES, GRANDPA’s, GRANNYs AND any guardian OTHER raising a child. Todays’ children compete more about who looks “sexier” than the other when we used to compete about who achieves better academic results than the other!! So as we contemplate on improving the constitution, we need to seriously come up with laws that can help curb sexual indecency amount our youth!!

What about the rampant miming by the artists. They brothers and sisters who performed were mostly miming their own songs.

Let’s launch a commission of enquiry to find out why artists can’t sing live at their shows!

Why didn’t any of the offended persons bother to call the police or security? If you see something bad happening deal with it there and then
