MOST WANTED: RB’s Son, HENRY BANDA, ‘Enters’ POLICE MOST WANTED LIST

AFTER almost three months of what analysts are beginning to call a game of “hide and seek”, police now want the “general public” to help them find the son of former President Rupiah Banda, Henry, whom they need for urgent questioning.
In an interview in Lusaka on Thursday, acting police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga told the Daily Mail that “call outs” or “orders” have been issued for Henry through his representatives but he has not responded to them by reporting to police, as required by the law.
“We are appealing to members of the public who may know the whereabouts of Henry to come forth and tell us where he is,” Mr Hamoonga said.
The police spokesperson also confirmed that Henry has already appeared “once before police” for questioning but declined to explain why the police were interested in the former President’s son saying any disclosure could “jeorpadise” investigations.
Mr Hamoonga said the search for Henry has been going on for a while now, without much success.
“I cannot give you any further details because it will jeopardise the probe. We don’t want to cause alarm,” Mr Hamoonga said.
Mr Hamoonga said the police will take “further action” if Henry does not hand himself over to the police sooner than later. The action was not specified.
Initially, Daily Mail investigations suggested that Lusaka lawyer Sakwiba Sikota had been handed Henry’s summons after officers failed to find him but Mr Sikota told the newspaper: “Henry Banda is not my client…I don’t know how the police made this mistake but I will try and see if I can give the call-out to someone who may know where to take it…I have not been able to find him myself because he is not my client.”
Henry’s name has been popping up every time RP Capital – the company single-sourced to evaluate Zamtel assets – has
been raised alleging that
himself and Petauke member of
Parliament Dora Siliya
“engineered” the US$2.5million
transaction.
Facts remain vague but
newspaper reports in the past
further suggested that Mr
Banda and the outspoken
Petauke legislator could have
“illegally” put the deal together.
Daily Mail efforts to reach
Henry failed yesterday but
sources suggested that the
former President’s son could
have relocated to South Africa
after his father lost office to
President Michael Sata.
Home Affairs Minister Kennedy
Sakeni, when reached via phone
yesterday, said: “I think I would
rather leave this issue (of
Henry) at this stage in the
hands of the police…if I
comment, it may appear as if I
am interfering. The police must
explain what has happened, not
me as Minister of Home
Affairs.”
Although his public profile was
not as high as that of his older
brother, James, during his
father’s administration, Henry
is reputed by those close to him
such as friends and admirers as
the “business architect” of the
former first family who could
have tied together, among
others, the RP Capital deal.
Transparency International
Zambia president Reuben Lifuka
in an interview yesterday told
the Daily Mail: “Henry must
immediately report to police and
answer charges and clear his
name instead of staying away
because that can be
misinterpreted to mean a lot of
things.”
Mr Lifuka said being summoned
to police does not mean: “You
are guilty at all. It simply
means police need help with
investigations and staying away
just frustrates investigations in
my view. It can also compel
police to take extreme
measures.”
Police have not stated what the
next step will be but lawyers
interviewed by the Daily Mail
suggested that a warrant of
arrest could be issued with
Henry’s name on it if the
absence persists without a
legally acceptable explanation.
President Sata has embarked on
a corruption fight which he says
will not spare friends, relatives
or members of his own
Government as he tries to
create jobs and fight poverty.

But I have not seen such a roll, and unfounded topic. Zambians we should learn one thing about all these investigations. That is exemplary look at the FTJ’s case of which he was supposed to be imprisoned and nothing happen and he said Welu mwanyala in his coffin(MHSRP). So we are just waisting our time trying to show taffness when a new government comes to power. Then when Michael goes out he will be probed of any thefts. What a precedency we are setting for our country.Let sata just deliver to the pipo not ifi fyama corruption cases and witch hunting.

If i do see him, I will let the police know immediately. Why dont the police go further and issue an international arrest warrant – the countries he has run away to have more sophisticated CCTV and other surveillance cameras and could help the zambia police with their investigations. Let them find him via Interpol. Whatever ctry he is will extradite him almost immediately – no country(even in Africa) wants to be seen to be harbouring suspected criminals.

Corruption must be rid of in order for you people to get a job, registration card, passport, contract e.t.c without paying any crook. This is what any government in the world is doing now. Those complaining that it is a waste of time and money do not understand the destructive impact of corruption economically, socially, morally e.t.c.How can you get more money in your pockets when you allow corruption to go on?Money will concentrate in a crooks pocket because you allowed that crook to manipulate the system.Take a look at Dora,Henry,Liato, they have more money in their treasure chests because they made cuts through giving contracts. In India, a man has gone on hunger strike to protest against graft and you guys are busy saying enough of corruption talk, PF just deliver.Corruption must be eliminated in order for a government to gain an international reputation and increase investor confidence so that you access more money.Zambians!

    Rich Man’s P.U.S.S.Y
Don’t you think you are jeopardizing your business.
You have told the entire WORLD that you specialize in dating (or rather being devoured by RICH MEN like HENRY).
Now all these rich men who RIDE you have stolen money from the poor. If they get arrested as you suggest, you will lose out since your thing is not for poor people..
YOU ARE SHOOTING YOURSELF IN THE FOOT!!

  24. J'bourg   December 30, 2011 at 2:03 pm

  27. janet c   December 30, 2011 at 2:09 pm

@ XYZ_1980 – LOL !!!! Your mind is truly shallow – your shallw assumption is that anybody who is rich has stolen from the poor! have you ever heard of hard work and enterprise – hard-earned money? And what is your definition of rich? Driving a BMW or buying black label ku bar?

Now I understand why Zambians steal at any opportunity – they have low self esteem and only believe that one gets rich only by stealing. Henry is not the only rich boy in town – in fact what he has are not truly riches as I know them! So for me, he is small change, I ride with bigger dons than henry – I’m talking men with private jets and yachts my dear!!!

  28. Kay Hummer   December 30, 2011 at 2:28 pm

This criminal should be arrested at once!!!

My mind is definitely shallow but yours is shallower..
I earn a living here where i am by doing serious BI work..If you can Google the terms SAP,OLAP,ROLLAP,OLTP,MULTI-DIMENSIONAL CUBES etc then you may probably know what i am talking about.
private jets and yachts, i see you have been watching a lot of movies of late…
Now serious, most Zambian “rich” people i know of have made their fortune through corruption and stealing because thats how business is done in ZAMBIA.
If you take stock of your MILEAGE, you will realise that you have been RIDEN by thieves.
Most hard working people i know are not rich but just comfortable..
People who are truly rich in this world are not found in Zambia and they dont spend their money RIDING CHEAP P.U.S.S.Y like yours..
    —————————————————
ON A SERIOUS NOTE YOU AND I SHARE ONE THING IN COMMON..WE BOTH EARN BY DOING WHAT WE DO BEST
I:Assisting companies with vital information so they can make better decisions and stay competitive
YOU: Being RIDEN mercilessly by “RICH” ZAMBIANS

  34. Woviziba   December 30, 2011 at 5:12 pm

People who ride Yachts and private jets never boast about that unless they were extricated from Mandevu, George and the likes

  35. janet c   December 30, 2011 at 5:14 pm

Hmm ba XYZ_1980 – clearly it looks like you have never left the borders of Zambia. Since you are so hard working, honest and holier-than-thou – then your hard-earned tax has helped to finance my ‘rich’ boyfriends – so thanks for the hard work and cash my dear. By the way, keep it up so that ‘whores’ like me can continue to enjoy. have a happy new year and plse don’t get high blood pressure due to my preferences – after all life is what you choose and make it. You have chosen your path and I have chosen mine – so deal with it, grow up stop embarrssing mankind with your childsigh comments…

  36. janet c   December 30, 2011 at 5:17 pm

oh and @XYZ_1980 and @ Woviziba … why do you automatically assume that I am domiciled in Zambia (permanently)? I may be Zambian, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the men I date reside/are permanently domiciled in Zambia!!

henry should come up in open to clear himself from these allegations.

  39. Wanu Ngwee   December 30, 2011 at 6:54 pm

    THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING!

I thought it was easier for police to find a high profile and well-known person of Henry Banda’s sort than a commoner like me? I believe it’s against the law in Zambia to know of the whereabouts of a Wanted Person (by police) and not report such, so have the police quizzed his family, friends or girl-friends?

And what sort of lawyer is Sakwiba Sikota? He says the police call-out for Henry was “misdirected” to him, but he wants to go out looking for people he thinks would know where Henry is. Is that really his job? I thought the correct thing would be to return to ZP, but inform them about those that he thinks would assist with Henry’s search.

    Janet C!
You really amaze me! You are so proud that you move around with other men’s husbands who bonk you for riches. I hope by now you so rich that you’re considering leaving your trade. By the way how often do you go for VCT? I advise you to take it easy, use your hands to earn a livig and not your bottom. It wont be good to lose you through AIDS. Have considered trying Jesus- teh life changer. You better do; it is the only way to stop chasing men for riches and start a new life which you can be proud of> I know your defense has been accusing people as being ‘holier than thou’. You cna also live a holy life for your creator. Its up to you to take it or leave.

Thanks GK and RKO. Babygal I rarely use harsh words but your retrogressive response almost forced me to, before GK and RKO spoke the same feelings as I should have. Pls do not be blind followers, be objective and responsible in your comments. You are encouraging plunder to continue in Zambia. People will be walking away with Billions of Kwachas right in front of our eyes and all you have to say is ‘leave them since they are voted out’ silly thinking. Do you have a heart for the poor in this country? In case you don’t know a lot of people rarely manage a normal meal a day. I can’t avoid suspecting that you are just hiding in the name of ‘babygal’ you must be one of the plunderers or a very close beneficiary to these people who have no mercy for the Zambian people. You people, what kind of hearts do you have which enjoys the evils that you do and remain smiling as if all is well? No wonder you are not happy with the steps HEMC has taken to ensure you are fished out and brought to justice. You can run… but you can not hide forever. Gadaffi tried to run… it was just a matter of time, wait and see

Was just trying to pump some sense into Janet C but it looks like its a hard nut to crack..
You see i have come across very hard working women in my life..Women usually put in a lot of passion in their work and if given more opportunities, can really HELP TO transform our Country..
ITS REALLY UNFORTUNATE THAT WE HAVE PEOPLE LIKE JANET C!! WHO TAKE PRIDE IN WRECKING OTHER PEOPLE’S HOMES FOR A FEW PIECES OF NICKEL
A woman is a very special being and its the woman who raises a family and instills values in US..
    ALL THE BEST IN 2012
