SINKALA Backs Brother, NATHAN, To Make AFCON SQUAD

Andrew Sinkala's brother, NATHAN

Speaking exclusively to bolayathu.com from his base in Germany Andrew Sinkala said he was happy that Nathan had grown to a level of being called to duty at senior level. With Renard still exploring his options for the position of central midfielder Nathan has emerged as a possible option.
The German based midfielder who plies his trade with Bundelsiga side FC Augsburg is largely seen as one of the best central midfielders Zambia has ever produced. “I am happy for him to be part of the Africa Cup it is a good thing. For him to be considered then it means he has the quality to play at that the level. I want to believe he will make the final team,” Sinkala said.
He said that he would be closely following the Africa Cup and wished the Chipolopolo a fruitful outing in the Equatorial Guinea. “My prayer is that my country does well at the tournament and I would love them to do well because I will always be a Zambian,” said the ex-Bayern Munich midfielder.
Nathan is part of Herve Renard’s 28 member provisional squad currently camped in South Africa ahead of the Africa Cup. Zambia will open their campaign on January 21 when they face Senegal in Bata. Sinkala last played for Zambia during the qualifiers for the 2010 Africa Cup.
There were maneuvers to bring back to the national team set by former national team coach Dario Bonetti but the bad blood between FAZ and the former Nchanga Rangers and Under-20 World Cup star proved a stumbling block.

Pliz Sinkala can be said to be one of the best midfielders ever produced in Zambia only if u specifically refer to the Post Gabon disaster era. Pre-GABON era, the chap is average and would perhaps not be over-rated and fit anywhere near the past greats-Mankinka Derby-Profund, Godfrey “Dunga” Kangwa-Walya Nganga, Collins Sichande-Profund, Willie “Amalume” Phiri-Brave, Patrick “Bomber” Banda, Lasso Laimon-Strike “Lupopo” Rovers, Tenant Chembo-Vitafoam, Dominic “Kabulubulu” Mutale and Jericho “Russian Tunker” Shinde-both Nkana, Richard Stephenson and Gautier Kituka-Walya Nganga, Jani Simulambo, Willie Chibwika and Robert Lutoba-GBFC, Evans Katebe and Frederick Kashimoto-Mighty/Mangalawila/Abena Milambo Mufulira Wanderers etc. Akale kwali bola noti iyamuma paper ati ulimukali!

Nathan is a very intelligent player. Renard must take him for possible being unleashed when Gatusso will not deliver!!!

That increases the spectrum of choice, let te lad come,in case of injuries and other unforesseen circumstances… it is good for Renard to have a wider spectrum of choice. Go Zambia go!
