EXPOSED: ZAF NUISANCE Continues As They Conduct SECRET RECRUITMENT

ANOTHER NUISANCE has emanated from the Zambia Airforce-ZAF- operations as far as transperancy is concerned.
Sources within Force Headquaters in Lusaka have disclosed to Tumfweko that the Zambia Airforce is at the moment conducting secret officers recruitment exercise.
Sources have told Tumfweko that there are now two lists which have emerged. One for those who attended medicals in December last month and another list emerging from the secret dubious recruitment exercise being conducted.
“Yes its true, ZAF are recruiting secretly. Imagine ZAF is conducting a secret recruitment. There are two lists now. One where they called everyone(for medicals) and now one where they are doing what they call inservice and yet they are bringing their own relatives.”
This is barely a month when youths across the country described ZAF’s officers recruitment a complete nuisance.
The youths highligted that those with relatives who are high ranked officials are given the nod even though they are under qualified.
Others claimed that those with money are given places for their children after massively ‘injecting in’ money to some named corrupt ZAF recruitment officers.
Sources have indicated that there are some from those who attended medicals in december who have been ‘chopped’ to pave way for the dubious secret recruitment list.
However, it is for this reason that the PF government is seriously called upon to clean the dirty operations going on at Force headquaters starting from the ZAF departments of recruitments to Promotions of ranks. There is no transperancy in operations in ZAF.
“It’s saddening to note that its no longer Zambia Airforce. Indeed, its now a Family Force and NO LONGER Zambia Airforce.”

I like the American way, if you want to be a marine its your own call because when you are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan and die there, it is because you chose to.But for a career soldier, it is not all about the job,Its a passion and that strong desire to defend the country as a service man or woman.ROTC is the best American military program where the best academically excellent go.General Colin Powell by far was the first Black person to have excelled at ROTC.Being in the army at top ranks requires brains and not just a livelihood for existence.Remove that thought and look for alternatives to your employment search. Most of the comments have read hear are treating the army as an employing institution.

We thought ZAF is the most reliable force, but its like you are now letting us down. What is going on? Will we ever have a clean operation in Zambia?

People don’t tarnish the image of ZAF. What ZAF is doing is that, those who went for medicals is another group and was considered separately. Now there is what is called Q commission or in simple terms, those people who joined as soldiers but ve qualification of officers, they ve been given chance to attempt the officers call with the new recruits. No one new in that group. If you see anyone new there, then you have the right to complain, if not, i say go and investigate and bring that complaint at ZAF and we will face it head on. Its not relatives of serving personnel, but serving personnel. If you see a relative, please feel free to report and we ll not let you down. please continue having faith, ZAF will always stand out to be the Best and we will not allow corruption in ZAF.

James in what capacity are you defending or speaking for ZAF?

  15. L. mukando   January 10, 2012 at 11:45 am

It’s unfortunate that certain individuals would want to take advantage of the PF’S Governments being new in power to fix or settle old scores with their colleagues or superios at their work places. One thing people must realise is that today it may be your colleague on the receiving end, the other day you may be on the receiving end yourself. Remember, some of these allagations are forcing the government to make very wrong decissions, and very highly qualified people are being fired or suspended. Some of these allagations are being raised by people who are job seekers and feel because they are close to one gvt official they can afford to dent the images of their collegues already in employment or because they come from a certain province they think they own the PF govt.

James, thats good info and thanks. Your comment has fallen short of one thing though. can you tell us what criteria was used in the recent officer selection.I applied to join ZAF as an officer in Supply,i did the tests and i can confidently say i passed! iam a professional with papers and they are THERE at ZAF but i was left out! SO my brother if you are an officer at ZAF I would advise you to keep quiet unlike justifying thE CORRUPTION which everyone is aware of!

Can the anti corruption investigate the issue, we hear they did interviews for 26 inservice personnel and now they have trimmed the number to halve and brought in civilians relationships of high profile govt officials and airforce generals. it a pity that the so called in-service recruitment has turned into an engine for recruiting family friends

  21. Timothy Gift Mumba   February 26, 2012 at 8:25 pm

May the anti-corruption commission do something about this problem.

  22. realman   March 13, 2012 at 3:48 pm

the anticorruption can do nothing, its part of a govt gymic, the only picked 08 inservice and brought in 200 relatives. check the list and compare the names to the earlier ones after aptitude test. very different.
