UPND Says “HH Is Zambia’s Next President In 2016″

Hakainde

The opposition Untied Party for National Development (UPND) has claimed that the 2016 general elections gives the party a chance for its leader Hakainde Hichilema to win the polls.
Party Deputy Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says Mr. Hichilema is better placed and tested to beat his ‘rival contenders’ in the forth-coming 2016 polls.

Mr. Mweetwa claimed that PF Government and President Michael Sata, in particular, would be shocked with the outcome of the election results in 2016 because change is inevitable just like the MMD grabbed the presidency from the former ruling party, UNIP in 1991.

“Mr. Hichilema is better placed and now tested. The current Head of State Mr. Sata lost three times to MMD and change is ripe for our party, UPND. There was wide of change 1991 when MMD took over and come 2016, UPND is taking over from the current PF Government,” Mr. Mweetwa said.
Mr. Mweetwa, who is also Choma Central Member of Parliament (MP) said his party has accepted change of government and congratulated President Sata on his election.

He dismissed allegations that UPND leader Mr. Hichilema is anti-government because his party has pledged to support the government of the day in its quest to deliver to the aspirations of
the Zambian people.

“It’s shame to accuse UPND leader Mr. Hichilema of being anti-Sata. As a party, we have always praised and supported the PF Government in its endeavours to deliver to the nation,” he said.

The UPND Deputy Spokesperson, however, said the PF Government has lamentably failed to deliver some of the core promises prior to the September 20 tripartite polls.

He cited the that President Sata has allegedly failed to restore the Barotse Agreement of 1964 as one of the promises saying that only the Commission of Inquiry has been which said has had nothing to offer to the Lozi people.

“PF Government has lamentably failed this far on core election promises. President Sata is only giving us cosmetic headlines when he appointed the Commission of Inquiry which has nothing to do with restoring the 1964 Barotse Agreement,” he said.

Mr. Mweetwa further accused the PF Government of having failed to create jobs to the Zambians as well as fight poverty in the country.

“What measures and plans government has to revamp the Zambian economy? Job creation is not sending back street vendors to trade on the streets,” Mr. Mweetwa said.

Mr. Mweetwa added that Zambian people have not benefited from the PF’s 90-days but branded it a mere political slogan.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mweetwa says his party would not be associated with ‘dirty’ politics but seeks to deliver to the electorates when it forms government in the next five years, 2016.

“UPND will not associate itself with political deception but be determined to service delivery,” he said.

Presidency is for all zambians.HH and UPND should embrace all in their party to win the hearts of zambians, secondly let HH give chance to another person so that he canbe led as well.forcing to rule wont help at this time.secondly i advise cornelius to ask elders in southern province over wat happened and eluded them in the pre independence times.something was wrong from inception and needed to be corrected o else u will continue being in the opposition an start losing some seats to PF .

I wish to advise the UPND that we the people are the referees.we are sitting at a distance watching carefully each and every politician hoovering around. no matter how intelligent you may be , the people have the final say in the ballot box.what ever noise you make we will judge you with the full measure you deserve.

How can HH win the 2016 presidency when in the first place does not qualify to contest the presidency according to the Unhappy People Never Develop Manifesto. He has already served two full five year terms as UPND president and therefore must do likewise or else we are watching HH very closely to see if he practices what he preaches!

Hakainde is too radical he can/t be the president of zambia.UPND should start looking for alternative for the party presidency and reorganise the party according to the zambiaa standard.

The Tongas themselves have a very wise saying ” Boomba ulye malelo” meaning humble yourself to gain favour” Unfortunately our rich pompus brother thinks he is too educated and rich to humble himself before the Zambians. Truth is education and leadership are not one and the same neither is wealth equal to political power. The really wisdom and power are domisiled in the knowledge of God and the love of people, both which HH seems to lack, at least from what we see. Fellow followers of HH, cronnies like Mwetwa, heed the words of your wise elders, “Boomba ulye malelo”

This is 2013 & soon it will be 2016… can’t wait to witness another defeat…

Comparing the MMD’s triumph over UNIP (in 1991) to UPND’s assumed triumph (in 2016) lacks analysis and clear thinking… Does today’s “attimosphere” in any way compare to the 1991?
