The opposition MMD has charged that commerce minister Bob Sichinga is lying that the party printed illegal notes amounting to 3 trillion kwacha prior to the elections.
MMD deputy secretary Chembe Nyangu has told QFM that the allegations being made by the PF government that the MMD printed fake in China are unfounded because there is no proof.
Mr. Nyangu notes that the MMD was a responsible party which could not make any transactions that had the potential to distort the economy which the party worked so hard to build.
Mr. Nyangu adds that the money that was used by the MMD during the campaigns was received through contributions from party members and other well-wishers.
He however, declined to give any details on the matter saying the party leadership is studying the matter and will call a press briefing soon.
Commerce minister Bob Sichinga revealed on Thursday that the MMD government printed fake notes from China which they used to distribute in the villages during campaigns.

3 trillion kwacha, flooded onto our economy can have very dire consequencies on our economy.
If these allegations are true, this borders on criminal intent by the perpetrators and calls for immediate remedial action by the PF government.
This money has potential to distort economic decisions with regard to monetary levels, interest rates, exchange rates and inflation.
This could in turn give misleading micro and macro economic performance.
Investor trust can also be lost in such a scenario: i suggest the PF act soon,to bring back investor confidence

It really looks like Zambian governance has been the preserve of the mafia for a long time. I hope the current PF will not be tempted to invent their own set of illegal behaviours.

Re 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, proclaiming, “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Messiah, for the accuser of our comrades has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.
Ex 14:14 The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.”
Jer 1:19 They will fight against you; but they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, says the LORD, to deliver you.
Jer 15:20 And I will make you to this people a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail over you, for I am with you to save you and deliver you, says the LORD.
Thus says the Lord. P.F. will from this day onward begin ti fight and insult each other. There will be strife in their ranks and they will begin to hate their own beloved leader with a passion. They will be divided into three factions. MARK THIS DAY MMD AND UPND.

Thank you ba PF but can we have solid evidence before you blow the whistle. How many things are you going to bring up without making arrests. Zamtel deal was reversed for corrupt practices so who has been arrested for being corrupt? Finance bank same thing. Thats why I say all this corruption fight is bull ****! Focus on national developmental issues if you ain’t gonna make any arrests while big decisions such as reversal of deals on grounds that they were corrupt. Yashani iyi ba PF? Posenika amano shaa!

If the allegation is true then it is very unfortunate.
However, if it is not true then this may strain our relations with China.
Europe is begging for chinese money even as of today and the german chancellor has been leading the talks on that.
Perhaps the chinese government needs to issue a statement to clear the air on the matter since MMD has refuted the allegation made by the PF.

MMD was dead desperate…They needed hard cash…Check depreciation of ZMK during and after elections! That’s evidence enough. And why should they take to think about it if the answer is a straight no? Tilimbe. Let’s hope no Chinese man shows up with a receipt ati the country was sold. God help us

I agree with Michael…! The Chinese government needs to issue a statement to the same effect otherwise poor Zambians will just be speculating… all at the expense of development! The PF government should also desist from making wild statements that border on strained relationships with other countries! Let them behave as though they are in leadership…hello…you’re no longer in opposition! Show us the evidence; catch the culprits and let the law take its course! I’m very disappointed with your continued waffling!!!

If 3Trillion Kwacha was pumped into our small shriveled economy, even an ***** would know because inflation would soar; why are we being taken for a ride.
My take on this is these guys (Bob et al) are anticipating problems in the economy because there ideas are failing to work and the leader is up on a goose chase called corruption fight; this is a story to keep us preoccupied with a rumor!
Anyone sensing that the economy is getting better – point to us? There predecessors left a fairly thriving economy and they are failing to build on it!
