Father Frank Bwalya Says The Opposition Are Not Inspiring

Change Life Zambia executive director Father Frank Bwalya has charged that the opposition political parties in the country are not inspiring.

Father Bwalya says most opposition political parties have failed to provide positive checks and balances to the government.

He says in as much as the current PF government was voted in by the majority, there is need for opposition to provide checks and balances to the government.

Father Bwalya says the opposition should wake up and provide the necessary checks and balances for the government to score development.

Father Bwalya explains to QFM radio that being in opposition should not only mean campaigning for the presidency, but ensure that the government is held accountable in its operations.

He says the opposition should emulate the way the Patriotic Front operated while in opposition by providing checks and balances.

He says the way the Patriotic Front operated while in opposition should set as an example of how the opposition should work.

Being in opposition doesn’t always mean opposing every view or policy of ruling party. One key thing is that u have to learn to be an opposition. The UPND was once a credible opposition but seriously I feel their leader is a serious self centered opportunist. The MMD still has its house to sort out! Narep is still growing its party and UNIP is dead! These other parties only exist on paper.

So Fr Bwalya at the moment the PF which was the strongest opposition didn’t mentor any smaller party and hence the vacuum (hahahahahaha)! No offence meant but that’s how I see things!

And u fr.yo suggestion aint flick hence i c no reason of u partcipating in politics why can’t u jst preach da word of God wen on air instead. Beta u resign frm priesthood 2 join politics coz i hv neva seen such a lunatic insane priest lyk u. Nosense~

Mmd is a corrupt n rejected foolish party with pipo dat imposed an alien on us as president, Upnd is a sectional, tribal n bantustanic party with a myopic leader, the rest as J.O.B would say matotoli. We need them to be weak so dat as PF we could be having quieter nites, tulelefya ifya mutalalila!

i agree though i also see beyond the issue of having a credible opposition party,i think upnd cant offer good opposition coz of the issue of being labeled a tribalistic party, even when something sensible comes from them its perscieved to be tribal, mmd doest hav the calibre coz we just divorced them some few months & has indoor issues to sort out, narep is still in its infancy, milupi has the issue of the barotse issue attached to his politics, other party are only on paper.we as citizen shud provide chk&blcs

The message of hope that the MMD &UPND pact took to Msanzala during campaigns is that they want to impeach Sata. Was that well received going by the election results that came out? No. Failure to read the political mood is bad leadership. The UPND message will not attract members to their party. They need to re-visit their strategy. Father Bwalya is right. Insulting him and his followers will not attract them to UPND. FB has a large following on the Copperbelt

    February 20, 2012 at 7:09 am

Kakoma is saying UPND will not be forced to hold a national convention. No one should, it is your duty to call for one. Do not tear apart the UPND constitution. It is now 5 years since the current committee took up office. Refer to Article 53. Learn to things differently. Now you’re just like Heritage Party, and all those paries that have never had their conventions

Bo FB, remember that you are chosen to be a voice for the voiceless and speak out for the mother zambians sufferein. I know your hard work and how much you stood for the PF while in opposition last year cause of the many suffereings and injustices people where subjected to, however, i have one thing to advise you. Remember the flock you were called to minister upon by providing guidence and spiritual food to them. Be a lamp upon their feet so that they may be able to see where they are going unlike you dwelling much on politics.
Lastly, stick to the calling with which you were called for. If you are a teacher, teach and if you are a priest so proclaim the good gospel unto the nation rather than spending 99.9% of your time serving man and not God. Change for the day of reckoning is coming upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
