UPND members have accused their president, Hakainde Hichelema of keeping his family away because he has an Indian for a wife and colored kids. Sources within UPND told zambianstar.com that they want to know how a leader can keep his wife away even when need arises. They said they want him to imitate former president Rupiah Banda who walked openly with his wife, of his grandchildren’s age. “show us the family or no vote!”, they said.
What’s wrong with colored children or an Indian wife? I do not support HH politically, but the race of his children or wife should not be an issue. A man has a right to marry whomsoever he chooses and whatever race the wife is should not ever, ever be an issue under any circumstances.
Who cares, most Zambians are coloured nowa days anyway. You barely see anyone full anything these days
So what if HH has an Indian wife and coloured kids? First of all, that’s his personal life. He has his own reasons of which is none of our concern and more over it’s his choice. It’s sad to hear that people are bothered about somebody’s life. Lets just stick to HH and not involve his family in all this.

You are missing the point here. The issue is not about the skin/ race of the wife, the issue that as a leader HH must show us his wise. We know Rupiah’s wife befre he became the president, we knew Michael’s wife before he became president the president, we have never seen HH ‘s wife. Is he married? We want to see the wife. Is she a mujahidin or a relative to bin ladin?

I concur with THE EQUALISER. However, as a public figure HH’s wife needs to be a public face. It comes with being a presidential aspirant. Colour shouldn’t be an issue.

It seems we have shallow minds. HH’s wife is prettier than those you have seen. She would make a very good first lady and her approach to issues depicts what is in the offing in the first lady’s office. I have met her a number of times and she has represented HH at UPND meetings where HH was not able to attend prior to 2011 elections. Keep her away from the rot.
