Chipolopolo striker Rodger Kola has clinched a K5.5 billion transfer to join Belgian side FC Gent on a five year deal, bolayathu.com can exclusively reveal.
The towering striker currently playing for AS Ashod in Israel will join the Belgian side for pre-season late July.
Kola’s agent Nir Karin confirmed in a telephone interview from Israel that the former Edusport striker had settled for a lucrative move worth 800, 000 euros (about K5.5 billion).
Formerly of Edusport, Kola has made steady progress in Israel where he has shown tremedous improvement having represented Chipolopolo at Under-20, 23 and senior national team level.
Karin was delighted that Kola, whom he described as hardworking and focused, had made a giant step in his career.
“It is important for Zambia to have more players in big leagues and this is very good for Kola,” he said.
Karin, whose reputation has helped Zambian players in Emmanuel Mayuka, William Njobvu and Justine Zulu, expressed confidence more Chipolopolo players would make good transfers during the summer window.
He said there were a number of offers for Mayuka while Njobvu and Zulu had also shown potential into making further steps following the interest they have attracted.
“Kola is a great player and has improved since coming to Israel. This one [Gent transfer] will also open doors for others,” Karin added.
The FIFA registered player agent made first contact with Zambia when he introduced late Chaswe Nsofwa to the Israeli league.

an update people. A truck just went in the kafue river when went past the bridge guards (at sabina) while the other is stuck in the mud.
the accident is due to the lack of responsibility by the previous government for lying to its citizens, that the surveyors were on the ground studying.
Accidents have occured on a daily basis in the chingola/kitwe road but the government has still said nothing positive about the lives that have been claimed.
Reporting from Kitwe its me your future Tumfweko.

whats the name of that hunger stricken zambian footballer who went to Bangladesh for trials. Footballers should be able to learn to read so that they know the background of countries where they are going. Bangla is a 1000 000 times poorly than zambia. Its really sad. What a waste of money for an air ticket
