CONFIRMED: Two Zambian Intelligent Officers Were Indeed Stripped Naked In RSA
A reliable source at the embassy in RSA has confirmed that the two intelligence officers that constituted a Zambian defense intelligence delegation that was invited for SADC exchange program.
The said officers are colonels based at the ministry of defense in Lusaka.
The Army has since relieved one of the officers from the appointment and struck him from a senior course he was earmarked in the United States. Sources within the Army have expressed displeasure and disappointment at the way the Army wants to disguise the scandalous and disgraceful conduct portrayed by the officers.
It is believed cases of that magnitude amount to nothing short of dismissal or indeed cashiering.
The officers stripped in RSA are believed to be highly connected to the minister and both the Army commander and his deputy who equally have an intelligence background.
The unprofessional conduct of the officers has also confirmed concerns raised previously that the current command in the Army lacked a vision and had been out of touch with troops.
For the first time in the history of the Army, nepotism and corruption have been rife. Merit is not being followed and officers are being promoted with following the bench marks. The officers stripped naked are some of those that had been rushed in appointments not befitting their qualifications and past performance.
Another retired soldier, doubted if the current Command could propel the Army to expected heights considering their past performance. He further bemoaned the commanders total disregard to training and professionalism. He doubted whether the current crop of instructors could match those of the compulsory national service years.
He suggested that the Army do adopt an open door policy and tap counsel from the gallant men and women to maintain professionalism. Once a soldiers you are always a soldier. He implored government to step up their efforts to reposes the ex-servicemen properties and establish clubs where the young crop of troops could learn ways of upholding the virtues of the profession.
