We want or don’t want it , Dual Citizenship should be finally implemented and amendment as a clause into the New draft Constitution of Zambia, despite being opposed by President Mr. M.C. Sata, this deal must further recommended for Our National Interest and the future of Zambia.
This issue concerns families abroad and at home, families reunions is a must. Why being afraid or scared of great Zambians in the Diaspora ? The Old times of hijacking People’s Citizenship Rights is over and gone. And times of Dictators, Fascists or Communists is dead and buried for ever. No matter who are you in the Society Dual Citizenship is a must.
The coming of Multi-Party Democracy in Africa brought together alongside with human rights to Our People, including Freedom of Press, Freedom of Choice, Freedom to Exist and live, Freedom of life, and adoption of Dual Citizenship among Nations. No one can bar, or broke one’s birth rights of someone’s origination and destination in today’s times we are living in, not even the King or President or Traditional Chief of that territory or kingdom . Every human being belongs to his destination of Origination, and double Citizenship or Nationality is temporary. Your home always remains your home, and the is no better place than home.
The ideals of Free Enterprise and Democracy are complementary. The development and sustaining a strong middle class is essential to attainting stability in Zambia. Dual Citizenship has the propensity to bring this about. The future seems to provide a great promise ; Dual Citizenship will help to democratize the politics of Zambia. There are hundred upon hundred of children born to Zambian Nationals presently residing in the Diaspora. The Children with their dual Nationalities and exposures could help Zambia to navigate her destiny through the twenty-first century.
Democracy indeed, is built on informed Citizen – participation, especially those who have lived and practiced it in development Countries. The ideal of democracy is meaningful participation of an engaged and informed Citizenry.
Dual Citizenship is undoubtedly, one of the ways to foster Zambia’s future Economic development. Leopold Senghor of Senegal was correct when he said ‘’ To build a Nation, to create a new civilization which can lay claims to existence because it is humane, we shall try to employ not only enlightened reason but also dynamic imagination’’.

You chaps are getting your knickers in a twist over this foolish clause when real stuff has gone unchecked.
1. Are the three arms separate distinct and able to provide unfettered checks and balances
2. Do we have freedoms from torture and other human rights abuses
3. Are our mp’s completely separate from their foolish political parties or are they going to be in fear of expulsion and loss of seats
4. Can I sue grz for non provision of essential goods and serivices
5. Can I impeach my mp if he/she is a chisushi
6. Can the president still appoint and dismiss civil servants like wild dogs when a commission exists.
7. Can the grz enter the countyry into debt without consultatiion or offer national gifts.
All this un dealt with and you are farting around with dual citizenship.

Dual citizenship does not benefit the nation in any way. Rather it is a benefit to people with one foot here and one foot elsewhere.
I am in the diaspora and I was eligible to take up citizenship of my resident country years ago, but did not.
Going back to Zambia to be part of the development process really has nothing to do with the colour of your passport…..

It will be kind of better to have this thing called dual nationality. I am british and to be honest, whatever happens, am happy and settled in England. I do come for holidays to zambia and i love having been born in zambia and no one can take that away from me. Whenever i come to zed, i enjoy myself just like any zambian living there. I can still do business in zed anyway though at a cost, being a foreighner but who cares. If i can, i will because my roots are right there. So whether dual citizenship or not, life goes on, its nothing to bother me.

Bring it on!!! Many of us have been waiting for decades for this to happen, i regreted adopting another citizenship right after i got the “red book” i realised that indeed… “there is no place like home” even if Zambia is under-developed I’d still love my country and would love to come back and live home for good than die lonely in a cold country of white racist people…
moreover, we africans are always “told” that we should go back home to africa by skinheads and nazi racist muzungu’s; otherwise every black man, woman and child will be eliminated from their white countries like Hitler did to the Jews.
If every Jew on this planet has the right to live in Israel despite what citizenship they hold, why should Zambian natives get deprived of their motherland, especially after pumping FOREX into Zambia for over 15 – 25 yrs?

There should b a limit on the maximum age of the president even if they are limited by two terms. The maximum must be 75 years. Meaning if you are 70 Years you can only have one term. If you are above 70 years you do not qualify as you as you will be over 75 years by the time you are completing the first term.

CONSIDER THE REMARKS MADE BY ANGELA MERKEL, THE GERMANY CHANCELLOR THAT MULTI-CULTURALISM HAS FAILED BECA– USE LOCAL INDEGENOUS FEEL UNCOMFORMTABLE AND UNWILLING TO ACCEPT THE SO-CALLED DUAL CITIZENS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES. DO YOU SEE COMMENTS MADE BY PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEIR COUNTRIES…? THEY ARE SO SERCURITY-MINDED IN THIS EVER-INCREASINGLY INSECURE WORLD. WE HAVE ONL ZAMBIA TO RUN TO IN THIS WORLD AND WE ARE NOT READY TO LEAVE IT UNATTENDED BY PEOPLE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR RIGHTS TO COMMIT CRIME IN ONE COUNTRY AND THEN RUN TO ANOTHER IN THE NAME OF DUAL CITIZENSHIP. DIVIDED ALEEGIANCE HAS NO PLACE IN ZAMBIA. PERIOD!!!!!

JUST CHOOSE WHERE YOU WANT TO SPEND YOUR LIFE AND GO THEIR FOREVER… IF IN FUTURE, YOUR CHILDREN THINK OF COMING BACK HOME, THEN LET THEM RENOUNCE THAT OTHER CITIZENSHIP AND COME BACK TO ZAMBIA. BUT TO ALLOW SOMEONE TO BELONG TO TWO OR MORE COUNTRIES AT ONE TIME, ZAMBIANS LETS SAY NO!!!! THIS BRINGS LACK OF PATRIOTISM AND CONFLICT IN ALLEGIANCE ESPECIALLY WHEN THE VERY COUNTRIES ONE HOLDS CITIZENSHIP ARE AT CONFLICT OF INTERESTS AND OPINION. REMEMBER, WE ARE LIVING IN AN INCREASINGLY INSECURE WORLD, WE NEED NOT TO CREATE OUR OWN AL-QAEDA!!! AMERICA HAS PAID AND CONTINUE TO PAY FOR IT.

THINK OF THE UNPATRIOTIC ZAMBIANS WHO COMMITTED CRIME HOME AND THE GOVERNMENT IS LOOKING FOR THEM. BUT THEY RAN AWAY INTO SOME WESTERN COUNTRIES AND GOT CITIZENSHIP. IF SUCH IDIOTS HAD DUAL CITIZENSHIP, THEY WOULD CA– USE LOTS OF INSTABILITY BACK HOME BECA– USE OF THEIR GREED AND SELFISHNESS. THEY CLAIM LOTS OF RIGHTS THAT AS ACOUNTRY AND GOVERNMENT, WILL FIND IT VERY HARD TO CONTROL AND WORSE, IF WHILE AS A COUNTRY WE WANT TO PROSECUTE THEM, AND THEN IT CONFLICTS WITH THE OTHER COUNTRY’S LAWS AS THEIR CITIZEN, ZAMBIA WILL BECOME UNGOVERNABLE AND AS ALWAYS, THE MAJORITY OF OUR PEOPLE WILL BE DISADVANTAGED – THE POOR.

IF YOU LOVE THIS COUNTRY, SAY NO TO DUAL CITIZENSHIP. ITS A RECIPE FOR ANARCHY AND EVIL. GREAT RECIPE FOR CONFUSION. DEMOCRACY IS ONLY GOOD WHEN YOU — USE IT BASED ON YOUR CULTURE AS A SOCIETY BUT WHEN YOU START TO FOLLOW OTHER PEOPLE’S SOCIETY BELIEFS, DEMOCRACY BECOMES A RECIPE FOR EVIL, IMMORALITY, ANARCHY AND LOTS OF SELF-INDULGANCE CRIMES THAT YOU HAVE NOT EVEN HEARD AS AT NOW. SAY NO TO DUAL CITIZENSHIP.

All in all, the president is right in sofar as the national identity & culture are concerned.

Bushe bu opposition party president to be heard kulanda ifingi fingi and insulting unnecesarily?? Zambians you need to learn to address important issues with a sober mind so that even intelligent people would be attracted to share in your topics. Yes indeed ba Mr. Brown Chibale Kapika – dual citizenship would be great for Zambia considering how many people we have in the diaporas all over the world. Some of these people have gained valuable experience in areas that can bring serious growth back home. By virtue of them being citizens in those foreign countries they are entitled to a lot of benefits as citizens and that helps them build their financial capacity, as well as knowledge capacity in different sectors. Home being home, there is no better place they would like to re-invest what they have made than their country of origin ( Zambia). Our government and indeed all of us Zambians are always complaining about foreign investors externalising their earnings, those Zambian in diaspora would love nothing than to do the same for Zambia. When you are not a citizen in a foreign country, there’s only so much that can be availed to you through government citizen empowerment programs. With that background, this is the best time to address the dual citizenship through the constitution.

It well known most of those in the diaspora are economic refusees, there is no other reason you want to have a rich father and a poor one at the same time teti fibombe. Fear of the unknown.
Osama bin fimofimo did not need to bear the nationality of the country in which he stayed while they looked for him.
How many pipo are hiding in Zambia without belonging to Zambia and another country?
Commission of crime in one country and hiding in another is not reason enough to deny eligible people dual nationality.
In any case, it might help the tracking of criminals because if such individuals are flagged in the developed countries where systems are well developed, they can have very few places to hide…they will be on sex offenders lists, such and such lists, which Zambia does not have. So this way, and investment going to zambia, it’s a win win situation

While those advocating for dual citizenship are only looking at practical advantages such as more employment opportunities, possible influx of capital, easy travel and entitlement to the social programs of both countries, there are other issues that one needs to look at as to whether or not our systems in Zambia can easily address them: are we able to offer let’s say assistance abroad to new citizens in troubled lands?; what of the issues arising from double taxation, can we make follow-ups?; what of government service employment, e.g. I know that in the US just accepting employment with the government of one’s second country may result in the loss of a dual citizen’s U.S citizenship…what bilateral treaties do we have that would help us extradite people with criminal minds back to Zambia, we have failed to get one Zambian suspect called H. Banda… Personally I do not think that Zambia as a country can properly handle the wider implications of adopting this clause. I would be a beneficially as my two Belgian kids would become Zambians and have access to cheaper loans but I am trying to be rational.
