The patriotic front calls for ‘respect’ during the by-elections.

The ruling Patriotic front has called for respect among political parties taking part in the forth coming by-elections in the country.

The country is set to hold parliamentary by-elections in Chama north, Muchinga and Livingstone on Thursday, 5th July, 2012.

PF deputy national chairperson Elizabeth Phiri says there is nothing to fight about in any election.

Mrs. Phiri says all what is required is respect for all participants and issue based campaigns stating that the final decision is always up to the electorates themselves.

Speaking to QFM, Mrs. Phiri says it is pointless to have political violence in a country which is deemed democratic.

As a democracy, Zambia needs to accommodate all views and opinions of others regardless of political affiliation. It is however important to be constructive and not otherwise.

@Bragadocio – Yes I’d have taken u with me to Rio, but the problem is that you would have had to go to Mapatizya to collect you petty cash under your pillow and you would be arguing with the hostess that you need more attention on the plane than me! Hence I chose level-headed young man Chimpuno.
