Guy Scott is on record having stated the position of government on street vending in very clear terms this morning in Parliament. “Government will not remove street vendors from the streets until the PF government finds jobs for them.” What a misdirection! To the contrary, street vendors are already self-employed. All they need is relocation to convinient market places that promise an equal patronage (flow) of customers. They also need an assurance that those market places will be free of political interference (cadre manipulation). Believe me guys the police-LCC’s ultimatum to street vendors is a non-starter. (Uncoordinated Actions / Reactions / Responses / Planning).

who is saying the truth and these leaders not from the same party and government? please honest answers

@chabwingi …this is forward thinking sad as it may appear.a.the anrchy of letting people build on the rsilway line and on top of the bulk water transmission pipe in Libala is a time bomb waiting to explode. WILL HOVEVER IS RESPONSIBLE BETWEEN ZAMBIA RAILWAYS, RAILWAY SYSTEMS, LUSAKS CITY COUNCIL, MINISTRY OF LANDS, MINISTRY OF TRASNPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS PLEASE TAKE THIS UP?

HEADLINE TIMES OF ZAMBIA APRIL 12, 2017:

Zambians woke up to a rude shock as a north bound goods train operated by Spoornet on concession from Zambia Railways killed at least 100 people who were asleep in their houses built hardly 15metres west of the railway line south of lusaka.

the horror was described as the worst calamity to befall the country since the 70s when a similar number of lives were lost in the explosives accident and mine flooding in Mufulira.

Certain citizens, though blamed govt for refusing to demolish these houses as they were being built way back in 2012 between Chawana and Lilayi

@likaki nyau nyau, is it true that people have built houses on the railway reserve land which is 50meters on either side of the railway line? surely this worse than street vending!
