Zanaco Coach Plays Down Title Talk

Zanaco coach Keagan Mumba says it’s too early to talk about league title despite beating Zesco United 2-1.

Leaders Zanaco beat second placed Zesco on Saturday to gain a vital psychological edge in the race for the 2012 MTN/FAZ Super Division title to extend their lead from one to four points over the latter on 36 points after 16 games played with another 14 left to play.

Mumba told MTNFootball.com that beating Zesco was not the key to the title.

“I am not reading much into this game I cannot cheat you that we are winning the championship it is too early,” Mumba said.

“It is just another win worth three points.”

Mumba said upcoming games against the bottom six sides were potential banana skins for any contender in the race for the 2012 crown.

“It is too early to call the shots just have to take each game as it comes,” Mumba said.

“We have to be very careful with teams like Indeni, Roan United, Forest Rangers they can spoil the party.”

Zanaco’s win over second placed Zesco saw them remain unbeaten for a ninth successive game collecting seven wins and two draws along the way.
