The five who have been fired include creative Paul Shalala, Penipher Sikainda, Bangwe Naviley, Delphister Lungu and other junior reporters.
“Dont disclose my identity. I’m one of the five MUVI TV journalists who have been fired this morning for having attended interviews at ZNBC on Friday last week and Monday this week.
Instead of MUVI TV management sorting out our petition on low salaries which we gave them as newsroom staff a few weeks ago, Costa Mwansa in his usual arrogance has decided to dismiss us.
We are tired of being paid peanuts, we went for interviews to seek better working conditions but management has decided to dismiss us without benefits despite us having worked here for many years. MUVI TV is crambling bit by bit, people are leaving, by the time Steve Nyirenda realises that Costa Mwansa and Mabvuto Phiri are destroying the company, it will be too late. Who can afford to lose 8 formidable reporters within 7 months? Only MUVI TV can.
The five of us who have been fired this morning are Delphister Lungu, Chris Habeenzu, In’utu Mwanza, Pennipher Sikainda and Bangwe Navilley.
You may wish to know that this is not the first dismissal we have had, when we petitioned management over low salaries a few weeks ago, the whole newsroom was fired but later re-instated on the same day to avoid the story leaking to other media institutions.
Ala twachula pafula, we want change in private media. We urge government to force private media institutions to open unions to stop this nonsense.”
Tumfweko Sources within Muvi Tv have disclosed that Costa Mwansa is the one behind the hounding out of all journalists and the fired journalists have asked information minister Kennedy Sakeni to come to their aid.
The sources further disclosed to Tumfweko that Costa Mwansa is an Evelyn Hone College dropout who doesn’t even have papers but is fond of intimidating fellow workmates.
MUVI TV ine ndeloleshafye…..
why should costa keep yo morons when crearly u shown that u do not want stay at MVI TV. Any sensible manager will do the same.
COSTA LIMO ULETEKA UMUTIMA PANSHI FINSHI ULI?
This young boy is arrogant for nothing.Intimidating others does not pay but only makes one look foolish. GROW UP!COASTER.
@ Mtola Nkani: corrections.
1. it’s and NOT its
2. can’t and NOT cant
3. I corrected it and NOT I can correct it ( since you’ve spotted misspelt and made correction).
Just debate rather than ukukoka ichisungu pamusula.
This post is deceiving, consider the following folks:
Quote: The five who have been fired include creative Paul Shalala, Penipher Sikainda, Bangwe Naviley, Delphister Lungu and other junior reporters.
Skip of Quote: “The five of us who have been fired this morning are Delphister Lungu, Chris Habeenzu, In’utu Mwanza, Pennipher Sikainda and Bangwe Navilley.
If the two are married, and if math has anything to it, you will find that the names listed have surpassed the purpoted 5 that the story says have been fired. Help me count here, we have, Paul Shalala, Penipher Sikainda, Bangwe Naviley, Delphister Lungu, …Chris Habeenzu, In’utu Mwanza, … and the ” other junior reporters” as reflected in the first quote.
Logically, we have 6+ names.
If this reporter allowed such a silly oversight, why should we believe anything he wrote is true at all? How do we know he too is now a college drop out? How do we know if or not he also attended the ZNBC interviews? My sense is, how do we know he is not making a mountain out of a morehill?
Maybe it’s just me that’s getting things twisted.
You deserved to be fired period. I have no kind words for you, my bad. You want to ditch your employer to a rival company. That my friend is an ethical. Can you imagine what bill gates would do if his executives attended interviews at apple without his knowledge?
Ba muvi tv ubufontini, ifimano fyamu comboni, atase.learn to face competition like david faced goliath.sour grapes fye ifyabupuba fyeka fyeka
It is TIME PEOPLE POWER GOT TO WORK AGAIN!!!! This is not “Money in our pockets!!”, rather, “MONEY IN CHIKOPA’S POCKET” for basically doing nothing for guess who knows when!!!!
PEOPLE, LETS START HONKING OUR HORNS IN CAIRO ROAD EVERY @12 30hrs for 10 minutes everyday till Chikopa leaves Zed!!!!!
No wonder news has become boring at Muvi, my favourite personalities like Penipher Sikainda, Inutu Mwanza, Bangwe Naville are great upcoming journalists.
Muvi, you have lost it, get back to the drawing board.
Mudala, Chibamba Kanyama, get all of them and revamp ZNBC!!!
Not everything mentioned here is true, Paul Shalala left Movie TV early this year and he mentioned that to me personally. Get your facts right and straight noti ukulasabailafye kwati katwishi .

I think we are tired to the trash that we journalists are subjected to in the private media.Media owners are realy exploiting us I pray that GOD deals with these Greedy rich men for exploiting us.
PF government we voted for u to change things and we are waiting pliz look into our plight
We have not fired them. We just disciplined them for disloyalty. They went for interviews all of them @ once without considering the outcome of their actions. We lost out on very important news items that they were assigned to cover. People should learn to get facts before concluding on serious sensitive matters like this one. As MUVI TV we consider the contributions that Journalists give to our station so we cannot just fire anyone in that manner even non contractual employees. We take this opportunity to thank all people and organisations that have contacted us on this issue. This is an internal matter and cannot be handled through the press.
Thank u
CM
THEY WENT FOR INTERVIEWS, WHICH MEANS THEY WANT TO LEAVE MUVI TV. WHAT MUVI WANTS IS TO BRING SOMEONE IN PLACE OF THE OUT GOING EMPLOYEES
Ba Air Mukwai, naona ma corrections anu; pali enangu navomela although those are proof reading errors. However, “I can correct” does nothing wrong in my sentence. I did not correct it. I’m merely boasting about my abilities and this has nothing to do with language structure but Logic. Chizungu chinga nkale ni cha ma Colonial masters but I know it very well thats why I can follow it pamusula
By the way ba Air Mukwai “Ukukonka” not “ukukoka”
