Scientists Invent Birth Control Pill For Men
Potential anti-cancer drug doesn’t fight cancer, but fights sperm production instead
Administering the compound to male mice caused each test subject’s sperm production to drop dramatically. The sperm that were still being created were of poor quality, rendering the animals infertile. Most importantly, once testing of the compound ceased, sperm production returned to normal, showing that the effects of the pill are 100% reversible.
While the results may be promising, clinical trials are still needed in order to prove the drug’s effectiveness against human sperm. The compound still needs to be tweaked in order for it to become a candidate for oral administration, but so far the outlook is good.
Of course, this isn’t the first time a drug has been found to be ineffective for its promised purpose, and then discovered to be a suitable solution to a different medical condition. Sildenafil — known more commonly by the trade name Viagra — was first tested in treating symptoms of heart disease. The clinical trials showed that while Sildenafil’s effectiveness against heart disease was minimal, the men who tested it were affected in an entirely different way.

This sounds interesting, I am sick and tired of taking family planning pills everyday. Why should women be responsible for child birth control when sex is enjoyed by both paties besides men enjoy sex more. Bring it on!

Princess thats just true you have said about taking pill it really makes us feel sick just to avoid ukwimitila umwana but on enjoying am not really sure who enjoys more unless its not making love but somehow the pressure to do it is more on men so ba sientist imwe poseniko amano so that they should also start taking pill pakweba ati we also shoul be asking if they have taken their pill hehehehe ala chikanona! The only thing am scared of is there will be a rise in cases of HIV and AIDS.

@ Janet c, I agree with you. From accent of days men have been decieving themselves in thinking they control d number of children the couple has but d truth is that women are in CHARGE. We know when to take d pill n when NOT to.By d way, d pill will NOT be on d market for another 15 yrs. Until then…..Women power!

No need to get overly excited about this! It sounds as though its far from completion & its all accidental discovery! Personally, Im not a fan of this as it could easily lead to increased levels of infection for hiv/aids & sti’s.
