UPND: SATA Should Discipline PF Cadres

Meanwhile FODEP executive director MacDonald Chipenzi has also condemned the unruly conduct of party cadres during funerals and any solemn gatherings.
Chipenzi noted with great concern that it was becoming a trend for political cadres to turn the gatherings into divergence and fighting grounds.
He reminded Zambian people to respect the cultural background during funeral gatherings, saying people no longer showed maturity when paying their last respect.
“It is our culture in Zambia that people should mourn with dignity and respect for the deceased. Each and every country has its own culture and we cannot run away from that,” he said.
He said that political parties have been advised to tolerate one another, which he said was not a case at the moment.
Provincial youth chairperson Shadreck Mungomba has also said that PF cadres should not take the law in their hands adding that PF cadres will not stop exhibiting intolerable behaviours at rallies and funerals unless president Sata instructed them to change.
Mr Mungomba said the violence that characterized the requiem mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka for the late Betty Kaunda and the attack on opposition leaders was uncalled for hence the need for the PF leadership to discipline its members.
He said it was sad that the ruling party had forgotten Zambian morals on how to conduct themselves at funerals and other State functions.
He condemned the PF leadership for the behaviour that was being exhibited by the cadres and accused them of trying to change the culture of funerals in the country.
“As youths we condemn the behaviour being exhibited by the ruling party cadres. For the past 47 years Zambia has been known to be a haven of peace, but with the kind of leadership that we have and the police officers in charge, it seems we will slowly lose the peace that we have been enjoying” he said.
Mr Mungomba noted with sadness that the lack of action by police to discipline the cadres was questionable and that Zambians were worried about the operations of the police under the PF government.
He said this behaviour makes one wonder if the country has been turned into a police State and if so government must come out and “tell all Zambians that we are under police control and not police protection”.
Mr Mungomba has since asked the Inspector General of police to monitor how police officers conduct themselves during political and funeral gatherings.

You guys do nt seem to understnd govt protocol.HEMCS is head of state,it is nt his duty to give instructions at a funeral.he s too big for tht.

foolish thinking collins Mbulo above. The president is head of state yes, but which state will he head if there is civial war in the country.. we know he is CNP,but let him intervane otherwise we would think he is the one sending them.

Iwe ci Zambian ukutumpa, just because your Cow with no Plan directs cadres to cause commotion does not mean His Majesty the King Sata can sink that low to talk to cadres. He has past that stage of interacting with cadres. His role is to mingle with the Obamas of this world. That is why he even did not see Nevers that time he stormed Plot 1. Nevers is to small for him. What type of arrangement is that you guy who call yourself ZAMBIAN? The president has no time to look at cardres. He is head of state and his juties are quite above that of Hakainde including yours. Its like you pipo you have stopped thinking using the brains. The only thing you dream about is insults. silly!!!

the time MMD was attacking PF and not UPND u were very comfortable and no need for discplinary action. today u feel the pain we all know u were behind them and u used to beat the PF.

Collins you represent those people the president mentioned in parley that some of you have children who are dull but you push them in schools at the expense of other intelligent but under previledged children. The article in question is concerned with the behaviour of cadres in STATE funnerals and you are saying the president is the Head of STATE so he cant be concerned with state issues? Typical of kaponya mentality.

Ba Comfort be objective, this has happened in all previous parties and governments starting from UNIP. As for UPND even when not in power it has been violent, why did The Post cross paths with UNDP? Because they almost lynched a reporter. You are annoying people who voted for PF and yet you hope to win the next elections but where do you get the votes if you call them kaponyas, YOU ARE UNDOING YOUR OWN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE. Yes Vote fo me in 2016. I will do the foLlowing in 90 days:
1) Reduce unemployment from the present 70% to 5%. This I will do by firing the boers and Chineese amd employing our own Zambian experts. I will also explore the oil prospects in western province, open up new copper mines in luapula and North western province.
2)Reduce salaries to politicians. No one should go into politics as a form of employment but to serve. That is why there is too much coruption among politicians even these that hide from pronouncements of being alergic to coruption.
3)Raise education standards in this country. Teachers should be better rewarded for their service. That way they wiLl not involve themselves in misschief like teaching halfway and asking pupils to pay for the other half (you know what I mean).
4) Improve on our imfrastructure, communication (We are having a raw deal from our mobile providers. The service we are getting is appauling. The banks Automated cash teals are also being affected by communication problems)
5) I can do more fo this my beloved country so come 2016 let us unite and vote for me.A….Wiseman
