My dear Janet C,is this really u talking.If this guy has 10 wives,leaving in 10 seperate homes and suppose he visits each one for a week.How long does it take for him to finish his rotation,roughly 3 months(70 days) my dear including his Mp tours.Meaning he meets each wife only 4 times in a year.Where is the marriage here and he expects his wives to be faithful just patiently waiting for him to come back.Yes we do have a girlfreind on the side but our Mp friend here doesn’t devserve your vote ba Janet C

..besides zambnians are in de facto polygamous marriages so we need to protect all women involved (wives and mistresses) – otherwise, as things stand there is a lot of animosity amongst women in zambia – wives accusing girls of ‘stealing’ their husbands, etc – let us just legalize this – zambian like to live in denial that’s the problem!

@ The Terminator – I dis-agree completely. I know several married men with children with mistresses – are you telling me they use condoms. How many married couples have HIV because a huisband strayed and did not use protection!!! Let us be real here – Zambian men are very adamant to use protection, especially with ‘established’ girlfriends….and who suggested that all wives shuold stay under one roof – No! A man can mary many wives but each should have their seperate house in seperate neighbourhoods preferably – and a man better be wealthy enough to be able to provide the same for all wives. How many times have we heard of fathers, uncles molesting their own daughters, grand-duaghters, neieces – so your argumen is not valid

@Janet c, I always admire your atticulation of issues. Yet on this one my dear, you got it all wrong. I beg to differ..Whether tradition or something else, we shouldn’t promote polygamous marriages. There are so many complications this will bring in the near future. As someone here alluded to, his children will start commiting things like incest, and the like. Who knows, even some bigger children may even start sleeping with some of his wives just to get satisfied and so on.. Yes some of the men with one wife will opt to get a spare wheel but they will be careful not to do it live. But when you know it’s your other wife, there is no way you will do it with a condom. And if she is not faithful, you end up contracting HIV. So it’s not really a plus to marry many wives.

@This so called senator is even boasting that he is faithful to all his wives, shame. What makes him this that his wives cannot sleep with other men and contract HIV? This kind of thinking is really from the stone age. I am very disappointed with such kind of thinking. That’s why we find it hard to develop in Africa. It’s this kind of mentality.
