A middle-aged man, Anayochukwu Okarih, has been arrested for having sexual intercourse with a donkey belonging to Mrs. Nnedi Moses of Umuhu, Eha-Amufu in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the arrest to our correspondent on Monday and said the suspect who hails from Umujovu in Eha-Amufu, was handed over to the police after he was paraded naked round the town.
The PPRO said the suspect admitted carrying out the act but asked for pardon, saying he did not commit it out of his own volition.
Amaraizu said, “The place where the suspect purportedly raped the donkey has been sealed and the area deserted, while he is being held at Ikem Divisional Police Station.”
The complainant, however, told PUNCH Metro that she became apprehensive when she caught Okarih fusing his manhood into the donkey’s vagina.
“I suspected that he might have contracted HIV and was looking for a way to spread the scourge,” Moses said.
When our correspondent visited the police station and requested to see the suspect, an officer said, “We have orders not to allow anyone see him (suspect) for now.”
