Definately beautiful but what about other points that are equally conjested like the great north road round about? I would have thought that removing round abouts and replacing them with electronically controlled road traffic control units would help greatly.

HE. Sata can’t fail, he building great east road bridge wen he was governor, so what can make him fail wen he is president? Go bakateka.

Are you asking us to comment on the looks or it functionality of the design? This picture lacks the detail which is important for us to analyse whether the development will result in an efficient flow of traffic. So, is there going to be another at the Great East-Addis Abbaba intersection, the great East-katimamulilo-thabo Mekhi round about?

  12. Wanu Ngwee   October 5, 2012 at 6:58 pm

Sorry, I meant “… The functionality of the design …”

And when are we demolishing the so-called DOWN TOWN “mall” that has really brought the southern facade of Lusaka DOWN???

  15. Mathatha   October 5, 2012 at 9:03 pm

It looks nice. The idea of this project is overdue. Pls it shud not take again 40yrs to have the contractor on site.

  16. Kwathu   October 5, 2012 at 9:13 pm

Ba Tumfweko; why do you have to solicit for comments. You are looking for praise for your masters. When we condemn evil, it is out of principle and we will give praise when it is due. WE thank the PF government for the idea and we keep our fingers crossed with our hearts believing that it will not turn out to be one of the failed promises.

without necessarily putting up such expensive structure, all the govt must do is add one more lane to the fly over up to high court roundabout since there is enough space on the sides. chapwa!

  18. Observer   October 5, 2012 at 9:21 pm

and forgot to mention! STOP the primitive marching practices in the middle of the city during peak hours!

  19. Real Man   October 5, 2012 at 9:36 pm

    Good but not enough

  20. Love ya muti   October 5, 2012 at 10:10 pm

This is not aboutvSatan BUT an initiative started by President Mwanawasa ….in 2006, some of the project now bearing fruit

  21. ZAGAZE   October 6, 2012 at 12:19 am

traffic builds up going into the city centre and not when leaving it or going to kafue. look at the lanes and which direction flow is intended for the overpasses. unless we are now driving on the right side of the road lol.

  22. likaki nyau nyau   October 6, 2012 at 2:44 am

Squatters will build houses right under the overpass bridges and will divert wster from the round about fountains

  23. ntc   October 6, 2012 at 8:33 am

Apart from the overpass bridge, that area needs serious cleaning. The place is in a mess. I get sick everytime i pass there.

  24. Naimpita   October 6, 2012 at 11:28 am

Yampita photo iyi mwe tapali efyo ndemona,

  25. Hidden Objects   October 6, 2012 at 11:58 am

Anyway, in picture it looks nice but we must see it physically first. Dreams are heavens.

  26. LOSING MMD CANDIDATE 2   October 6, 2012 at 1:54 pm

Twakulumba Sata taata. Wachita kabotu. Ncho tuyanda echi.

  27. LOSING MMD CANDIDATE 2   October 6, 2012 at 2:09 pm

Zambians please let us critize where it is necessay. This is development and we should appreciate. Scoffing at an idea which has been floated to you is very unfair. Nga Levy Mwanawasa stadium twapangile shani? Please belive in your government. Am not PF but am a proud Zambian.

  28. Katwa   October 6, 2012 at 4:20 pm

The picture above is not lusaka city. That is how blinded some of are. Look at it and if you know Lusaka either by land or air (bird’s eye view) you know that you are fooled to debate on Harare instead of Lusaka.

  29. Naimpita   October 6, 2012 at 5:58 pm

@ Katwa thanks for clarity that’s y I said I can’t figure out what’s going on in the pic

  30. mai chipolo   October 6, 2012 at 7:41 pm

that area where intercity and the railway station are needs to be cleaned up. it makes the picture ugly

  31. Abakonzi   October 6, 2012 at 9:14 pm

Let’s have a detailed study on the functionality of this project before we end up with another waste of taxpayers money as it happened with the overhead bridge at Manda Hill which is just a decoration.overpasses are good but why not create additional traffic lanes where possible before we rush into the sky

  32. sikiriti niku bed   October 6, 2012 at 9:24 pm

    absolutely splendid

  33. Greengoat   October 7, 2012 at 7:10 am

This is a good project long overdue. Whether conceptualised by Levy or Banda or whoever lets support those implementing. We need more of these. They are far much better than traffic lights.
