BBC Confirms Zambian Chipolopolo’s 3-Points Reward

BBC Confirms Zambian Chipolopolo’s 3-Points Reward

For those who missed the story that we ran earlier on  Tumfweko read it here. Information was leaked as early as June that the Chipolopolo were awarded 3 points.

BBC has confirmed that Fifa has stripped Sudan of its 2-0 win against Zambia in a 2014 World Cup qualifier because one of its scorers was ineligible to play.

The disciplinary committee of football’s world governing body ruled that Saif Ali should not have played in the 2 June game in Khartoum.

Zambia protested that Ali played despite receiving yellow cards in previous competitive matches, including when Zambia beat Sudan in an Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final in February.

Fifa declared the match “lost by forfeit by Sudan,” awarding Zambia a 3-0 victory and with it the three points for a win.

The Sudan football association has also been fined US$6,430.

Zambia now leads Group D with six points from two matches, and Sudan falls to third place with one point.

Ghana are in second place with three points while Lesotho are bottom with a single point.

I find no fault with FIFA. I can’t wait to laugh at Ghana’s complaint which will take them nowhere. It’s Chipolopolo in Brazil come 2014. FIFA VIVA or is it VIVA FIFA!!!

We just need a draw or win in Ghana and make sure we win all the remaining games, then Brazil will be ours.

It seems like most of you mathafackaz know nothing about these qualifiers. If zed tops this group she has to face another opponent from the next group who will also top that group ngati bawina ndiye pamene bazayenda.Only six countries from africa will go so its a long way.Otherwise FIFA thanks and these are the signs of good things to come. All the best guys on sataday too bad 4 rainford.

  27. isaac   October 9, 2012 at 9:35 am

Really if God says yes who can say no? We have to win all the remaining matches. We have to beat Sudan here, we have to beat Lesotho home and away and we have to beat Ghana on their home soil. After that we shall be assured of a trip to Brazil. Viva PF viva the Copperbullets.

  28. BIGGPAPA   October 9, 2012 at 10:28 am

Still a long way to go Bane, the ten group winners from round 2 have to contest round 3 and play home and away ties then the five winners of those respective ties then qualify to the world cup! But so far so good for zambia!

  29. Roga Roga   October 9, 2012 at 10:36 am

  34. FTJ   October 9, 2012 at 1:24 pm

@Barotse Diaspora, now you are wishing you were not a foreigner in Zambia ayi? When is your national team beginning to play international football?

  35. Dopi_Bauze   October 9, 2012 at 2:35 pm

Mwila tell these nuts that temporarily topping with LUCK does not mean automatic passage to Brazil! There are still a lot of stumbling blocks in the way! Who told you that being champions by luck guarantees you winning all your oponents? Are these really Grown ups or Children playing on the net! Ha Ha Ha Viva Zed with spent football analyst who are ever on the wrong side where predictions are concerned.

  36. rudfoxx   October 9, 2012 at 3:04 pm

TUPAC chikala will definetly beat which ever opponent we meet be it spain nothing will stop US .GO ZAMBIA GO PF AT WORK

  37. Menes   October 9, 2012 at 3:59 pm

Wonderful news, but lets also learn to win on the field of play, especially away games. We were definitely beaten by Sudan, regardless of the use of ineligible player, but that player is Sudanese, anyway!!! Winning away games is very crucial, otherwise getting another or more boardroom decisions our way may not happen again! God bless Zambia.

  40. King Musula Wenu   October 9, 2012 at 8:40 pm

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Just a caution from your King of Kings. What ever goes up, due to the force of gravity, must come down. Beware, Stophira Nsunzu was red-carded on sunday in a competitive match in Lubumbashi against Esperance of Tunisia.
My advice, lets FAZ tell us whether he will be eligible to or not. Otherwise, our happiness may turn into sadness if we make the same mistake. Lets discuss this issue extensively or else we may be foolish like Sudan and their player Saif Ali.
Therefore, as your King, I urge Mr. Kalusha Bwalya to tell the nation the exact position regarding our NSUNZU IS THE MAN.

  41. Mwibepa   October 10, 2012 at 1:33 am

ba Tumfweko mwibepa. BBC reported on facts unlike you who turned speculation into fact. The disciplinary committee only met yesterday. You reported on speculation based on the fact that Zambia had a strong case.

Enough said my fellow soccer fans. Can someone tell me if Sunzu is elligible to play this weekend taking into account his red card when he played for TP Mazambe against Esparance.Remember,it was a CAF competetion and the game against Uganda is also a CAF competetition. We do not want to fall into the same trap.Faz please clarify!!!
