INDENI Petroleum Refinery in Ndola has shut down for its routine maintenance works.
Company public relations officer Mwila Nkonge said the plant was shut down yesterday at 06:00 hours to allow for the light maintenance works expected to last for 21 days.
Mr Nkonge said the shutdown of the plant was to regenerate the reformer catalyst, which was the unit where petrol was made from.

This is routine maintenance a very normal undertaking for a plant of that nature and not a first time. However, we expect alternatives in place to avoid inconviniences experiencd in the past.

I fear for the worst!! Indeni shuts down, Truck Drivers in SA on strike, 12,000 miners fired in SA. Hey, these incidents may just have an effect here. By the way, where are we importing alternative fuel from? Hope it’s not SA where Truck Drivers are striking!!

-the routine maintenance is ok as long as all the logistics are put in place till 21 days so that there are no hiccups of fuel distribution through out the country.
-hope fuel reservoirs built by kenya co would alleviate fuel shortages…. and create more jobs.

I think focusing on long term sustainable fuel will assist Zambia,FORMER president Kaunda did an assessment in Chama its time as Zambians we were availed of the results of that assessment in chama. western and northwestern provinces, i still think there should be oil despoists if Uganda can invest in finding oil and find it today and are boosting of being a middle income country in 3 years and in 50 years they will be among the first world. PF lets invest in science as your manifesto says lets not fall in the indeni shut down and open syndromy lets us think outside the box and we should not pretend that there are no warning signs in the fuel sectors looking at the number of cars and the filling stations with fuel Zambians are buying cars 50 cars per day i was just looking at the stastic more than 45000 per year on internet this excludes those buying within it can have huge effects lets us do it defferently guys you need more fuel
