DEC Arrests Tanzanian National over Counterfeit US Dollars

The Drug Enforcement Commission DEC has arrested a Tanzanian national and a Zambian for being in possession of over one million United States dollar counterfeit notes.

DEC public Spokesperson Samuel Silomba identified the duo as Moses Daniel Mtegwa, aged 45, an accountant of Temete in Tanzania, and James Mutumba, aged 35, of Namwala district.

He said the two were apprehended along Kafue road after a long trail.

Meanwhile, the Commission has arrested Gift Mubita aged 27 of Livingstone for trafficking in cocaine.

Mr Silomba said Mr. Mubita was found with hundred and eleven pellets of cocaine concealed in a travelling bag and in the pocket of his trousers.

The suspect was apprehended at Intercity Bus Terminals in Lusaka on a Livingstone bound bus.

All suspects are set to appear in court soon.
