Mamelodi Sundowns Track Mukuka Mulenga

Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly made an initial query for 19-year-old and Power Dynamos midfielder Mulenga Mukuka.

Mukuka made an impressive senior debut for Zambia as a second half substitute in their 1-0 win over Bafana-Bafana on November 14 during the Nelson Mandela Challenge at Soccer City with an assist for Collins Mbesuma to score the games’ lone goal in the 63rd minute.

“Yes, we have received calls from an agent saying he is acting on behalf of Sundowns,” the source at Power said.

“But there is nothing official and we have asked them to put it in writing.”

The source added that the club has also received an inquiry from one European agent.

“There is some interest from an agent in France but that too was nothing official,” the source said.

Meanwhile Mukuka, who has scored 10 goals in the just ended season for Power, has also been shortlisted for the 2012 MTN Zambia player of the year award.

Mukuka will battle for the honour with his club mate and captain Joseph Sitali including Zesco United striker Jackson Mwanza.

Please Mukuka, not South Africa. Sundowns will end up killing you by being confined to the bench. Please go to Europe particularly France, for the sake of development.

THE SUNDOWNS OFFER MUST BE REJECTED: The standard of soccer in SA is too low for Mukuka’s type of player, and the locals players here will be out to make him look useless by not passing the ball to him. They’ve been doing the same to Mbesuma in recent times, until The new pirates coach Rodger DE SA identified him as his main marksman and gave out strong instructions to his teammates to be feeding him with this balls. All Mbesuma needs is ONE CHANCE. Mukuka Mulenga must just wait for the AFCON stage to market himself to better teams in bettter leagues overseas. This boy is Zambia’s repeat of CHARLES MUSONDA!!

Wanu ngwee when you mention the name Charles Musonda you make my hair stand with emotions. I think as Zambians we have once in a while been exposed to the real meaning of ball control and Charlie Cool epitomized this. This was a talent taken at the height of its career. Charles you will forever be missed for the role you played in midfield together with Derby Mankinka.
