MMD In Western Province Condemn SATA and Its MPs Defections To PF

Dear Editor,

MMD MPs DEFECTING TO THE RULLING PARTY

1. It is sad indeed for people like His Excellency our Republican President Michael Chilufya Sata one of those who suffered to bring multi Partism in Zambia has decided to abolish the same and try to bring back one Part State through poaching of MMD members of Parliament.

2. It is also sad that the same Veteran Opposition Political Leader by then who stood firm for the same and even expelled the Hon. Machungwa group for participating in the Mwanawasa Constitution making process, has all at a sudden decided to adopt all that he used to condemn.

3. Above all most of the MMD MPs who are seeking refuge in the PF Government are trying to run away from prosecution of the mistakes they committed. E.g. Hon Masumba of Mufumbwe has a serious case in court where he has been found wanting after getting a Diploma certificate from NIPA faulty.

4. H.E. Mr. Sata is on record of opposing the misuse of tax payers’ money on unnecessary by elections, a thing which he is promoting now while in power. No wonder he was a member of Linyungandambo a group he has disowned after assuming power.

5. Food is the basic human need and the MMD left a legas of “ Bumper Harvest, Paying Farmers on time, and distribution of input on time,” the opposite to the above is on the ground due to some unconcerned PF Ministers who have declared that their joining of politics was to make their business prosper.

6. It is a sad story to learn that Copperbelt Province the strongest support of PF Part, one buying a 25kg bag of Millie meal at K 85, 000 which should be a lesson to the people of that region which followed the “Donchi Kubeba “slogan.

7. Finally as MMD Western Province we are ready to have all MMD MPs intending to join PF to do so immediately and we are even urging our NEC to fire them all. It is better to remain with few committed MPs than having double standard MPs traitors.

8. UPND has few honest MPs and they are doing fine. PF had few honest MPs minus the Machungwa rebels and they were doing fine and even managed to win the 2011 elections.

Read times my dear. It is the MPs who are unprincipled and cheap. Added to that, our constitution needs to state that ANY RESIGNING MP MUST NOT RECONTEST!
I would also use any weakness in the constitution to further my stay in power.

EVEN AS WE DEBATE OVER THESE DEFECTIONS IT IS BETTER TO KNOW THAT POLITICS IS A GAME OF NUMBERS. THE ONE WHO HAS MANY PEOPLE WINS. PERIOD. ALL THESE POLITICIANS PLAY THE SAME GAMES. MMD WAS BUSY POACHING FROM PF WHEN IT WAS IN POWER. NOW IT IS THE TURN OF PF TO POACH FROM MMD. UPND WILL ALSO DO THE SAME IN THE VERY UNLIKELY EVENT THAT THEY WIN ELECTIOS IN 2031 OR 2036. ALL WE CAN DO AS CITIZENS IS TO LOOK FOR A PARTY THAT IS LESS EVIL. ALL OF THEM ARE EVIL WITH NO EXCEPTION. BUT SOME ARE MORE EVIL THAN OTHERS. A PARTY THAT IS STEALING BUT CAN STILL SHARE THE NATIONAL CAKE WITH ITS CITIZEN IS WHAT WE NEED. WE WILL NEVER FIND A PARTY THAT WILL NOT STEAL. BUT WE CAN ATRENGTHEN NINSTITUTIONS SO THAT STEALING IS MINIMISED OR KEPT UNDER CHECK.

The defectors are always the unprincipled “sebana wikute” type of politicians.Masebo is one such politician. She moved from RP to MMD and from MMD to PF. Who knows where she will move to next. Zambia does not need these bamuselela kwa kabas for politicians.

wow,who would ever thought MMD today would be the ones to cry the loudest,you are stil crying my brotherens,it was sweet when you were in the forefront to weeken the oposition and you never thought this day would cam ya//// wake up you are finishing at a very fast phase,we are now waiting for ba kachingwe and namugala,becouse we have all your MPS,so that your president can go back to the pulpit becouse thats were he belongs.

@Kakolwe, You’re right, it should be in the constitution. These defecting MP’s must not be allowed to recontest sits after joining other partys. Nowonder this country is stagnant in terms of development- this recycled kind of leadership will not take us anywhere.
