In a bizarre incident, a Dzivaresekwa cross-border trader left Mbare residents and traders in shock after a bird she was carrying talked to her brother who ran away.
News crew caught up with the woman who confirmed the talking bird and narrated how it came to be in her possession.
According to the woman she boarded a bus enroute to South Africa to buy goods for re-sale. The bus ran out of fuel and the bus driver organised alternative transport for the cross-border traders.
The woman was one of the passengers who finally got into the commuter omnibus. The commuter omnibus driver drove off route into a bush where he and the conductors robbed the traders.
The Dzivaresekwa cross-border trader was also robbed of her four bags which contained clothes for resale. Pained by her loss, she then decided to seek help from a traditional healer in Chipinge, Manicaland province who gave her ‘Juju’ to use and promised her that the robbers would return the goods after weeks.
As promised by the traditional healer, the robbers returned the goods in the company of a police officer.
The woman called the Chipinge sangoma informing him that the robbers had returned her goods. The traditional healer told the woman to be given $500 and two herds of cattle.
However, the robbers negotiated and said they didn’t have the cattle and the traditional healer asked them to pay $600 for each cattle of which the robbers complied.
So they paid a total of $1 700 to the woman. The traditional healer then asked for $350 only from the amount.
However, the woman pleaded with the traditional healer to defer payment to January next year, saying she wanted to buy more goods in South Africa but the sangoma was against the idea.
The traditional healer then sent a bird to the woman which was demanding for the money from her.
Upon hearing a bird talking, the brother of the woman ran away. The woman was taken to Mbare police station where the ZBC News crew caught up with her.

There is nothing about sex in this story so “Ba game” get your head out of the gutter. The woman should learn that in’ganga tabaichenjesha, just pay for service offered and learn from this.

Both were wrong! The witchdoctor was practising socery which the Bible denounces. The woman also visited something that is forbidden. Unless if if she is not christian then they are both right.
