Zambia Crash In Saudi Arabia

African champions Zambia crashed 2-1 to Saudi Arabia in Dammam in a friendly on Wednesday.

Wednesday’s match was part of Zambia’s build-up to the defence of the continental crown they won in Libreville, Gabon, in February.

Zambia’s lone strike came in the 71st minute through Nkana striker Evans Kangwa.

The goal was Kangwa’s first for Zambia since November 26, 2011 after scoring on his senior debut away in India in a 4-1 win against Goa Select.

Meanwhile, coach Herve Renard took a side comprising of 16 home-based players and four based abroad for the friendly that did not include Christopher Katongo, Rainford Kalaba and goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene.

Zambia have also lined up warm-up games against Tanzania, Morocco and Norway ahead of the Nations Cup in South Africa.

They are drawn in Group C with Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia.

@Verb, you are very right. The word crash in the title is not only alarming, but a curse. Why should a normal person use certain words as metaphor when “crash” is so closely related to the means of transport our boys used? This is lack of vocabulary. Muleke ba tumfweko, ****** idiotn ****** *****.

loosing friendly games is the best that can i happen to any team. Its a catalyst for hardwork and better preparation. No relaxing but working extra harder.I would love we play morroco if all the arranged friendly games fail through.Loosing can ensure that we seal all the weaknesses before the cup finals.
