Dear Kenny,
I have an everlasting respect and honor for you because you are the Father of our Country. No one can convince me otherwise that you are Zambia’s most important icon, thats why its with great pain that I write the following to you. I wish to express my disgust and utmost disappointment in your recent outandish remarks that all Zambians should support or Join PF.
I dont mind anyone asking us to support the GOVERNMENT, but asking the whole Country to join PF is like saying “Hey guys lets go back to the old days of One party system were if anyone doesnt support PF, his or her patriotism is questioned.” So Doctor Kaunda, when will you persuade your son Tilyenji to dissolve UNIP into the realms of PF ?
You have to back your words with action, right? I know you have never been fully convinced that an Opposition Party is the correct conduit for bringing checks and balances and besides that, as a FATHER OF THE NATION, asking people to join PF is not only an insult to the 60% and growing of people in Zambia that are not PF but also an insult to your LEGACY as a unifying factor.
Have you forgotten that you are not only the father to the government of the day but also to the OPPOSITION OF THE DAY? And when you make utterances, how come we dont hear much from you about the BAROTSELAND CRISIS, a situation that we need you the most on since you are one of the people that penned that agreement.
If you have the energy to speak for Sata, how about travelling to Barotseland and helping Zambia interprete and dialogue this elusive agreement? Do not destroy your prestigious Legacy by being partisan, we need you to play an advisory role for all political players in the Country, otherwise please go and take a sit somewhere.
I love you with all my heart and to me , you will ALWAYS ALWAYS be my number one Zambian hero.

Disappointed Zambian

Leave this stateless man alone. He did worse things to Zambia than the serial killer, Chilala. And When.another govt comes in kk international airport will rivert back to Lsk international airport. This is simply an evil man who made alot of Zambians suffer not worth to be called the father of nation. God has made him live this long coz he wants him to repent and mention the name of Jesus as Lord not mentioning names of imaginary gods praying in evil temples

KK if you knew how some Zambians are beginning to think about you, you will do well to have quiet words. Asking all Zambians to rally behind PF at this moment when mealie meal prices are escalating and the kwacha is rapidly losing value against the kwacha among many other vices is like you not being considerate and in-gracious to the undeserving title “Father of the Nation” Zambians have continued honour you with. It is you who weakened the Kwacha from 1:1 with the British Pound to 1:9000. Mealie meal shortages were massive in your reign. Similar tendencies are beginning to show. If it is not a jesuit movement which you and MC are members of, what justification do you have for calling all Zambians to join PF? You are expected to comment on 1964 Barotse Agreement but there is no clarifications from you. God has given you enough time to unite us and make co-exist in the midst of democracy but you seem to have ancient opinions on politics.

Clifford you have missed a point over KK support for Sata. KK is offering support to Sata and PF because he has seen wisdom and respect which Sata has given to him. Remember during the Chiluba and MMD regime how KK was treated? Did you advice the MMD that they should respect KK since he was the father of this nation? So clifford when you give respect to the elderly people you will always win their support. And clifford what you must know is that there are many people in this nation who can offer statemanship to opposition. So stop crying and go to Gray Zulu, Sikota Wina and many others why just KK alone.

The opposition is not only MMD there are also others, so for KK to say all Zambians should support even when we have mealie meal, fuel shortages is unfair. This is like telling that this is what it should be not to have basic commodities. Remember it was MMD under Mwanawasa that built you the retirement house because they regarded you to be father of the nation. With this you remind me of UNIP days when you foreced people to join UNIP, but we are now in a democracy. Please shut up and quietly enjoy your benefits. RB was told not to support MMD or else he was going to lose his benefits, so what is the difference with you?

There is no point in insulting kk.he is human and he can make mistakes.he did try his best as president.when you look at what happened in the 1970s you will understand why things become difficult for him as president as well as the country.copper price had gone down, world bank gave Zambia unfavorable condition on which to return money borrowed, the price of oil went up,the shortest route was closed due to the war in Angola.the list is endless. Please try to give him the respect that he deserves it was not easy to liberate Zambia.he was even arrested for this.At least he had vision for our country and not these other

The old man has been made to feel important again by SATA. As you recall, he had clung to power so much (and kept crying for re-election) after his defeat that it created a rift between him and Chiluba. It took a bullet to shut him up!!
WA MUYA YAYA likes power. He is happy now because, at least he is in the public eye….
KK should rise above politics of SELF- politics of the TULYEMO. Infact, he should refrain from active partisan politics.
He would do well to take a leaf from Mandela. Mandela is respected world over because of his selflessness; because he puts the welfare of others before his own- that’s true statesmanship.
To me, KK sounded like some of our traditional chiefs who received brown envelopes and then called upon everyone to vote for MMD.
KK thwarted democracy in his time. Now that its here, he should not do anything to kill it. He will do well to know that days of ‘ONE PARTY STATE’ are over.
If he continues down this road, will his legacy remain? At his age, he should strive to preserve the dignity that zambia has for him, otherwise he may sink into oblivion should another person rise to power.

Good observations from HK ans Atas. I think whilst old age ought to be respected, advice non the less should be assessed before being taken. KK’s advise is wrong and ill timed. It has the capacity to make Mr Sata think he can create a one party state in this modern democratic society which can be dangerous for the nation considering the power he posses as Republican President. KK must just continue with his AIDS fight(whatever happened the to that foundation)and leave active politicks to politicians who have not retired.
