African champions Zambia this afternoon lost 1-0 to Tanzania in an AFCON13 preparatory match.
Zambia lost the second match in a role after they were beaten by the Taifa stars in Tanzania 1 – 0 as they followed up another loss to Saudi Arabia last month.
Zambia started the match on the front foot with Chamanga hitting the upright and Chris failing to convert the rebound but quickly lost their pace as the home team started to dominate in midfield with quick counter attacks which the Zambian midfield and defence was failing to cope with especially with the pace of Ngasa as Tanzania replied with a header off the bar.
Chisamba Lungu had a tough time to keep up with the runners in his left back position but it was veteran Chintu Kampamba who was being out paced in the centre of defence with Hichani having had to bail him out on some occassions.
Tanzania’s counter attacks finally paid off in the last minute after Chintu gave Ngansa space to run towards the box to shoot home for a goal.
Herev Renard rang changes in the second half which saw Stopilla Sunzu come in for Hichani, Kasonde for Nathan, Mukuka Mulenga for Isaac Chansa, Evans Kangwa for Chris Katongo and Tindi Mwanza forChamanga which allowed player if the day Rodrick Kabwe push up from a left back position which he handled well.
2nd Half after Chamanga was replaced by Tindi Mwanza
———————————-Evans Kangwa———————————-
Rodrick——————–Mukuka Mulenga————————-Felix Katongo
——————-Mr. Reliable————-Shadreck Malambo——
Tindi——————Chintu—————Sunzu———————-Chisamba
—————————————Danny Munyao—————-
Note: Kampamba Chintu got injured and Francis ‘Mr Reliable’ Kasonde dropped to partner Sunzu in defence and Felix played a more free role and Chisamba accounted for himself well as a marauding full back. After the six substitutes were utilised Zambia finished with a man down Chintu was withdrawn.
Sunzu finished the match wearing the armband.
The changes only stabilised Zambia’s play but they failed to convert chances despite some beautiful play on both flanks with Felix missing a point blank chance moments after he was denied a genuine penalty appeal.
Zambia starting line-up;
Danny Munyau – Chisamba Lungu, Hichani Hominde, Chintu Kampamba,Rodrick Kabwe- Moses Phiri, Nathan Sinkala, Isaac Chansa, Felix Katongo,James Chamanga, Chris Katongo (C)

Please ba Herve Renard, Felix Katongo and Evans Kangwa do not meet the standard required for AFCON and therefore we urge the coach to drop the two and replace them with Singuluma and Fwayo Tembo. Evans is too weak and he is one player who does not fight for the ball and on the other hand Singuluma is a workaholic. In my own opinion I rate Singuluma at the same level with Chris, Jacob and Mayuka. His work rate is very high. Please Herve include Singuluma in your final team.

Herev Renar is nt a gud coach, if at all he was he cud hv being listening the advise from the soccer fans! I dnt even understand why he opted to play Tanzania who r nt even tht strong. His more like a tourist Than a coach. His just lucky he found our national team when they wea at peak. How can he leave out clifford Mulenga who plays competitive football in SA and get local players without experience.. Its a second lose in a role.. Its a warning to him. He needs to do better.

Look Mr Renard whatever your plan is we can’t be losing to a team 30 places below us on the FiFA rankings. Even if we send our C team We shud be able to beat Tanzania. Its time Elijah Tana took over the coaching beCoz Chipolopolo loses too much under Renard and they rarely score

Imwe ba Mumbwe, apart from Oskine, this is what we need to take out complacency in our boys bebore the big games. Apart from that, Renard is trying out new blood & new tactics. At least he knows those that wont work.

Ba Neither. Zambia didnt win afcon by lacky. at that time they were well prepared. If it was fluk they were not going to be consistent wining preliminary marches. Our hope is Renar losing to tazania should be a lesson and to know which tactics are effective. Go Zambia
