Opposition National Restoration party (NAREP) president Elias Chipimo junior says the continued arrests of his MMD counterpart Nevers Mumba by the Zambia Police is a clear indication that the ruling Patriotic Front is in a state of fear and panic for its non performance since assuming power last year.
Mr. Chipimo says the government has failed to address serious economic issues affecting Zambians such as quality health care and Mealie meal shortages among others.
He has since charged that the continued harassment of leaders of the opposition political parties is aimed at shifting people’s attention from real issues.
He has advised the PF government not to hide its failures through oppressing opposition leaders but that they should be realistic and face the challenges.
Mr. Chipimo was speaking in an interview with Qfm News.

Which wise man? The dead walker is dreaming. You pipo who find substance in this guy amazes me. This good for nothing chap has failed in his wisdom to recognise even what a grade seven can recognise that the economy at the moment cannot just all of a sudden be transormed through handouts to the pipo. The PF govt has outlined all possible mechanisms that are now catalysts for economic transformation.
If his economic promises constituted apointing him so that he can be gettin my tax so that his poverty reduces, he is in for a rude shock.
Its the planned implementation of the 8000km road network, it is the resumption of ZR, It is the fight against corruption, it is the building of hospitals in all districts, it is the decentralisation through more districts, it is the implementation of the Chiefs driven projects and more that will put money in pipo’s pockets. It is NOT your way Mr nashala neka president.

kwena you’re dull! How do you expect all the things you have stated to improve the economy when they are failing to get even the basics right? i.e. unstable currency, inflation as a result of high mealie meal price, erratic fuel supply etc. There seems to be no sense of direction with PF at the moment, trying to change things too quickly.

Being dull is relative to the subject. You could be talking about the knowledge of hate and slander. To put you in the picture, I am one of the highly schooled pipo in the land both in local Universities and Europeans ones and contribute more than ZMK150m p.a. in taxes to the govt just from the salary. I will not mention that from my business because it will be out of context.
What is your intellect contributing to the nation.

Does Chipimo say that opposition leaders should break the law and be let scot-free because they are the opposition? That they should defame others and be left scot-free because they are the opposition. I am beginning to doubt the wisdom of this chap. I thought he was going to be better than Hechi Hechi (HH) but I can see that he is not different. If someone utters statements that are a danger to peace and the police do nothing and there is chaos, the same Chipimo chap will blame government of not being in control. Elections are four years away and the basis for campaign when that time comes will be whether PF has delivered or not. Not whether the police arrested This or that person. Where is the diverting of attention? Are we voting today? The action of the police will give Nevers a chance to prove his allegations as to which person dished out the K1 billion and who are the receipients.

ABENA pJ YOU DULL,
Am only a nurse not a lawyer but I do understand from my basic nursing and medical law that it is the state to prove Nevers wrong (The burden of proof lies with the state who are the complainant in this case- Nevers can even choose to remain silent)and the case is not who dished the cash but as to weather Nevers’s statement on dishing the cash is likely to cause breach of peace in the country as a whole or section. section can mean a district, township or place within the country where the statement was issued or was directed.

Its tru you are a nurse. You believe in the ambiguity of the law.

No one will ever be good enough as president in our country, even lf him chipimo or HH was voted into power in 2016 one year down the line pipo will start complaining, the problem again is that we fail to appreciate the efforts of out leader coz we concentrate more on criticizing them and focus less on helping them…ine nikambako chambe.

@ Zed Nurse, You misunderstood me and you misunderstand law. If you accuse me of robbing your house and I sue you for defamation, I the complainant and the courts of law will want you to prove your allegations. Since you accuse me you must have proof. If your husband accuses you of infidelity it is for him to prove his allegations not you. How do you prove your own infidelity? Defamation means accusing someone falsely and if you can’t prove your allegations then you the accuser is punished. What Nevers said can bring instability in the nation. It can turn into a chain reaction. Have you seen the confusion in MMD? Luapula has defected, copperbelt wants Nevers out, all women in MMD want the same and this is turning into a countrywide chaos for MMD. Some people who would believe that this is because of PF’s K1 billion can resort to other means of retribution, like Inciting the barotse activists and do other things to make this country ungovernable. So you see my sister. I am not dull. Political issues, no matter how small you percieve them have the potential of causing civil war. DRC next door is an example.

Law is law and it must be executed without partiality. It is the disregard for law that has torn many countries apart.
Defectors to the incumbent party are allowed to hod rallies for example, not so long ago Mr Namamulambe had a rally. However, before defection he was part of the opposition that was being denied to do so in the name of maintaining law and order.
Is this the type of Democracy you would like to leave as legacy for our Mother Zambia?

Chipimo should start selling his party not an individual! He should start featuring his members in by-elections taking place instead of talking so much without action. You build a party from grassroots not when you are elected as president. Someone somewhere said a long journey starts with the first step, how does NAREP expect to finish the journey when they are avoiding elections for Councillors and MP’s? These by-election are a chance for these guys to sell themselves and the parties through door to door and rallies.

I see no future in this Chipimo chap, neither in HH nor in Nevers.Meaning the opposition is dead giving life to de rulling party.Let these politicians talk of how they will do things better than the current government, this will attract people’s attention. Some slogs like “punch for punch” will never yield positive results for the opposition.
