Dear Editor,
At the University of Zambia when a students is registered it means that student should abide by Senate regulations which state that that student should attend class at UNZA and participate in all activities as stipulated in the university regulations.
What is happening now is that student Eric Chimese computer number 28056558 registered in the following courses PA 311, PA 321, PA 341 PL 331 AND SS 241 is being taught outside the University of Zambia .
He pays extra money to these poor lecturers who teach the same courses twice meaning they teach their normal classes and then they are picked to go and teach the Air Commander.
We have had prominent persons as students at UNZA name them Mike Mulogoti as a Cabinet Minister was attending Class Senior Chief Inshindi , the late Mapushi name them. This is totally wrong and it gives undue advantage to this student who is being taught in the luxury of his office. Zambians what do you think?

When u read some comments, u wonder if some writers are really informed as they portray to be. Age has nothing to do with education. They are different reasons why some delay going into university. I am one of those who delayed because I had to help my siblings get education as well. Can my siblings insult me for delaying going into university? Its what some of are doing. Insulting the ones who helped u get your degree. Shame! Lt. Gen. Chimese is studying whether u like it or not. Moreover he is a qualified person in his field more than some of u degree holders. To be a Air Force Commander, u do not need a degree, but be a pilot.
WHATS WRONG WITH HIM STUDYING AT HOME OR AT HIS OFFICE? YOU CAN ALSO MAKE THE SAME ARRANGEMENT IF YOU WANT.THE PROBLEM WITH SOME PEOPLE IS THAT IF THEY CANT AFFORD, THEY WANT TO BLAME OTHERS. LIFE WILL NEVER BE FAIR, SO GET YOUR OWN LIFE BECA– USE YOU DECIDE YOUR OWN DESTINE. I SALUTE THE AIR COMMANDER AND ASK OTHER PEOPLE WHO CAN AFFORD THE SAME ARRANGEMENT TO DO AND STUDY EVEN AS THEY HAVE OTHER COMMITTMENTS TO SEND THEIR CHILDREN TO SCHOOL. THANK YOU.
Absolutely nothing wrong with this arrangement
May be he is doing open and distance learning and he has hired consultants/lecturers to help him..there is nothing wrong with that..the problem will arise if this same lecturers are the ones who will prepare and mark his exams..furnish us with more information
This is not about Eric having extra money because frankly speaking we all have enough money to throw around. The point here is the integrity of what this guy is studying and the qualification he’ll eventually get.I got my ACCA through part time studies and now Am finishing my Masters degree by online studies without tutors coming to my office even though I can afford to bribe any lecturer at any university and am sure this guy could easily enroll himself with institutions like Unisa,Mancosa or Cavendish and study privately.Unza demands that he sits in class either full time or part time period. Those of you supporting this arrangement I just wonder what the level of your highest qualification is!!
Leave him alone eric is a qualified figher Pilot and qualified figher pilot instructer he used to attend classes at unza he is not a first time student he oready hs other digres honest do u espect the air commander to sit in class with those boys thro stones in the great east road he is not odinery person like u the editor of the story infact yo r very jerous
That’s rubbish, why is he wasting tym being taught from his office; this is as bad as just forging his so called Degree, Shame!!!!!!!
what nonsense is this ba tumfweko..some people can be na kalijo.. I see nothing wrong with Eric being taught from the office.
infact, Eric is a third year student, meaning he started doing the course way before he became commander. He had no problems then attending lectures. Was he failing..no, but why should he now depend on leakage.. Eric would have continued attending lecturers at UNZA with no problems if he was not appointed chief executive of ZAF..but now, things are different for him.. his job is very demanding..soldiers are on duty 24 hours…if it was not so, he would have been going there in the evenings…
