Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) Executive Director Macdonald Chipenzi says his organisation will continue condemning the Public Order Act because the piece of legislation does not reflect any principles of democracy.
Mr Chipenzi says FODEP will not drift away from its mandate which is anchored on promoting democracy in the country.
He says since inception, FODEP has strived to promote good governance and democracy in the country.
Mr. Chipenzi has indicated that the fact that FODEP is giving divergent views on governance issues does not mean the organisation is partisan.
He adds that no amount of intimidation will stop FODEP from carrying out its mandate of promoting the tenets of democracy.

Mr. Chipenzi what you must champion is to repeal the POA and not just condemn then fold your tail btwn yo legs. That is noise making. Come up with a black card campaign against POA.

I tend to agree with you. This Act has been there as long as FODEP has been there. I did not hear the organization condemn it application during the last republics, what has suddenly changed?

I want Mr Sata to answer this question, WHY ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE OPPOSITION? YOU ARE USING THE POA TO STOP THE OPPOSITION FROM ADDRESSING THEIR MEMBERS.

I think discussing objectively is the only way that will help us attain true democracy. Ofcourse it is common knowledge that our POA is archaic n all of us know. Only way is to piece our ideas together n force this govt to honour what they promised.Who doesn’t know about how PF were complaining about the POA n now they must ‘u’ turn coz they are in power? Only honesty will push us foward. Lelo chili pamzako capita, maba chili paiwe. We just need to be real coz the damage the politicians are creating come directly us. We have enough technocracy now to know what we want
