FOOTBALL Association of Zambia fears counterfeit Chipolopolo replica shirts will flood the Zambia market and affect the selling Zambian outfit.
FAZ communications officer Erick Mwanza said people found trading or wearing fake Chipolopolo replica jerseys will be prosecuted.
Mwanza who unveiled Zambia’s new official Africa Cup of Nations 2013 replica jersey at Football House, said the green and copper shirts would be distributed widely in the country.
“We are swinging into action in conjuction with Zambia police intellectual property unit to arrest and prosecute those dealing in fake FAZ products,” Mwanza told journalists. “All these products and this logo cannot be used without FAZ our permission. Those that will not be selling this one I am showing you will face the wrath of the law. We will have no mercy on any of those trading in those illegal things.”
With Zambia’s success in Libreville Gabon last year, the country has seen unprecedented influx of Chipolopolo replica shirts with some bearing logos other than the official Nike logo.
The replica jerseys which are a serious loss of revenue to FAZ and government are, according to sources, sourced from the Far East.
And Mwanza announced that Herve Renard dropped veteran defender Chintu Kampamba from the final team for the 2013 AfCON due to a nagging injury.
Apart from Kampamba, Renard also dropped Zanaco defender Salulani Phiri and Arrows midfielder Shadreck Phiri.
Renard has returned the bulk of the 2012 winning team with the inclusion of Jacob Mulenga, William Njobvu, Mukuka Mulenga and Danny Munyau.
The quartet replaces Kalililo Kakonje, Nyambe Mulenga, Evans Kangwa and Kampamba.

Ba FAZ chilishyani tulibakaele ifwe we just buy from the foreigners who makes gonga’s and its because you hike the price for chipolopolo replica shirts.and these shirts are worn occassionally so its very pointless to buy it at a higher price so we would prefer those gonga and cheaper one’s.so make sure the shirts are affordable to everyone inorder for people not to buy gonga’s

The whole thing is simple. Sell your jersey at affordable price and people will buy from you. Use huge numbers to make more revenue but if you want to get too much per jersey, then am sorry for you.
