The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested a female Somali national of Ndola for trafficking in miraa.
Commission Spokesperson Samuel Silomba says Hawa Maxmad Lima, 34, of Flat No. 16 Kachipo Flats, Ndola has been arrested for trafficking in 27 bundles of miraa weighing 12.7kg, and that the Commission has since seized the car that the suspect was using at the time of arrest.
Meanwhile the Commission in Chipata has arrested and jointly charged two Malawian nationals for trafficking in loose cannabis.
Mr Silomba says Edward Mphande, 48, a peasant farmer of Kauma village, Kasungu District in Malawi has been arrested and jointly charged with Masauso Banda, 26, a peasant farmer of Hamard Kanyinji village, Mzimba District in Malawi, for trafficking in 158.8kg of loose cannabis concealed in three (03) polythene bags.
And Mr Silomba says in the last three days the Commission has arrested a total of twenty people countrywide for trafficking in various quantities of cannabis.
All suspects will appear in court soon.

The correct spelling is Catchpole. (not Kachipo) That is the same block of flats where the Somali who shot a Zambian was living. By the way, umulandu wafika pesa?
