Simuusa Should Think Twice About Servicing Plots Before Giving Them

The Minister of  Lands on 7th Feb 2013 issued a directive to the councils to stop giving plot unless they are serviced.
First of all is this practical, do the councils have the money to do this? in the past, in the 70s and 80s the economy was good and the councils could afford to service the plots before allocating them. Mr. Minister be realistic.. the councils have failed to even collect garbage from the streets or put up street lights how can they service plots? THINK ABOUT IT!! Lets say or do things that we know can happen.
Let the Minister think of another way of how to make the plot allocating have sanity. I think the only thing the councils can be doing is to demarcate the roads and grade them to mark the boundaries this will be cheaper and faster for the councils. People voted for the PF to have what they were being denied in the MMD when the cadres when issuing plots now the Minister of all the people is the one denying people to have plots.
We need these plot to build the future of our children we know the government won’t build us houses, we need to be empowered with plots to build our own houses. Please Mr. Minister do not deny us this opportunity thats why we put you there is help us not deprive us.
Abash Wylbur Simuusa!!!! we know you have plots and houses and you are comfortable so you don’t see any need to be in a rush to secure a plot.

The author of this story should have consulted before going public. Simusa is right, i guess he is one of the council workers enjoying giving out un serviced plots. You don’t need a good economy for you to be issued a serviced plot. what do you think is the use of huge sums we pay for plots, its not for your salaries or sitting allowances. Shame on you slow thinker.

The author of this article needs to realise that for any society to make strides towards development there needs to be standards that have to be set,and the ministers directive is one such standard!
If the councils lack the capacity to achieve the servicing of plots it’s only because the powers that be have never required them to build capacity and so they’ve gone around providing substandard services. The councils are full of educated people and I’m sure if need be they have the capacity to lobby for or raise funds to improve service delivery. Stop making excuses for why things can’t work and let’s try a proactive approach for once.

This is the problem of people getting used to wrong things, you think that is the correct way of doing things. Let the council service the plots before they issue them out. Thats why we pay service charges. So i totally support Simuusa, let there be sanity in our country. Just travel to Zimbabwe who are equally struggling economically, but they service their plots before they issue them. Why cant we do that?
