Zambia have been named among the top seeds for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations draw scheduled to take place next month.
The Chipolopolo are among the 11 countries named in Pot One of the draw to be held in Morocco
The seeding of the Chipolopolo means Zambia will avoid some of the tough countries on the continent during the qualifiers.
Among the countries seeded are title holders Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Mali.
Zambia were seeded because of their high ranking by FIFA and their performance at the recent Africa Cup of Nations held in South Africa.
Forty-four teams are on the starting line of the qualifiers.
The countries were seeded in four pots of 11 teams each according to their current ranking.
The last pot will be decided after the preliminary round of matches.
The draw will take place on March 10 in Morocco during Caf General Assembly.

Pot One: Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Togo, Mali, South Africa, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Zambia, Tunisia, Ghana.
Pot Two: Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Senegal, Cameroon, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Gabon, Uganda, Congo, Central African Republic.

Lamfras, the explaination for that is simple. The timing for holding the tournament has changed from even numbers to odd numbers. Meaning 2012 was the last of the even numbered system, and 2013 is the first of the new odd numbers system. Any country that won the 2012 would have found itself defending the title, in this case Zambia. Garden House Banda take your complaint to the relevant authority, I may be mistaken but I think its ZESCO itself to attend to your issue.

Its gud to dat Zambia may avoid some of da strong teams. Which ones are these strong teams? Is there any team any more which is not strong? Mr Banda in garden house sorry 4 da insult u ‘ve received. 4give him 4 he does not know wat is doing. Its gud 2 bring such issues 2 attention of many so dat we know wat is happening in other parts of of our country. If one will ask u to him/her for wat is already being paid 4, report him / her to ACC.

That is simplistic thinking by tumfweko. We no longer have ‘east-to-beat’ teams in the game. So, no complacency’ na Lesotho can kill your world cup aspirations! Kukosafye!

This is good news for Zambia…forget the length of time Zambia has been as Africa Cup winners…we do have our consolation in the road to Brazil….we are comfortably sitting at six good points with Ghana in second. To me this is the biggest ever sweet thing that could happen to Zambia. I am totally confident that the chipolopolo guys will do it this time. We cannot miss this opportunity. We just have to ensure we win all our games against Sudan and Lesotho and even if we were to lose in Ghana, we will still qualify for the WC in Brazil. Remember Ghana is scared and hoping we drop points…..well hopefully not this time around.
So get them boys….Brazil here we come.!!! eponapela bane.
