Commonwealth Picks Chipimo To Monitor Kenya Polls
National Restoration Party (NAREP) president Elias Chipimo has been nominated by the Commonwealth Secretariat to participate in the observation of the 4th March 2013, Kenya general elections, joining the likes of former Botswana president Festus Mogae.
NAREP National Chairperson Joseph Mushalika disclosed the development to Journalists in Lusaka this morning.
Mr. Mushalika says the development is not a mean achievement for Mr. Chipimo’s individual capacity, NAREP as a party and Zambians at large adding that given the magnitude of the assignment, Mr. Chipimo has been considered worthy to be included on a list of observers.
He says NAREP is grateful to the Commonwealth secretariat for casting their net beyond former Presidents to include opposition leaders.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mushalika says NAREP is participating in the forthcoming by elections under protest.
He says the by elections have been caused out of greed and without due consideration of the huge resources being wasted.
Mr. Mushalika has since labeled Members of Parliament causing by-elections as being driven by vulnerability rather than the will to serve.
He says it is embarrassing that Patriotic Front candidate Gabriel Namulambe could kneel to beg for votes from Mpongwe residents after having failed to deliver when he was a cabinet Minister.

HH and NEVERS already showed how undemocratic they are by not accepting their defeat in the Elections in their own country. They have resorted to Bitterness that they are ready to punish the Zambian voters through the Commonwealth sanctions for electing SATA. Chipimo you are they only one for Checks and Balances not those Shortcut Chancers, BASANGWAPO!

Commonwealth cannot choose HH because of his tribalist bent. He can only end up by making the already bad tribal electioneering situation in Kenya worse through siding with one minority tribal grouping.

Some tribes are more like wizards, the way they are hating on HH!!. I’m glad my ancestors did not originate from Congo because these monkeys can hate. Chaps are busy trying to argue out some invalid reasons to make the masses hate HH but the reasonable one have refused. You can’t hate a person just because of his tribe & his riches. An active politician being used in an NGO role is not something a serious politician with ambitions for presidency would even consider. Chipimo and his party should take hold in Zambian politics by winning some seats in parliament otherwise he risks fading like FDD or BY party. Once you cross into NGO area, it is not easy for people to take you seriously in the political arena. In politics you build your CV in politics so that people can easily reference your achievements.Outside achievements fail to convince people that you are the man for the job. Do you think Zambian electorates will be impressed that he monitored the elections in Kenya?

Tribe this, tribe that just shows how far we lagging behind in a lot things including integration as Zambians. Our founders gave us , One Zambia, One Nation and we have lived by it together for almost 50 years! Why let a few individuals destroy our existence?

I think the Commonwealth is right to pick on Chipimo due to his maverick politics he has always practised. Politics with civility and mind full of sobriety, fit for this 21 st century especially our country under political dispensation. Keep it up.

Listening to Chipimo makes me joyous. At last we will have a Zambian president. Born in Zambia and not Rhodesia and definitely he has a heart for the people has the Narep slogan says. Job creation, he has proposed to PF how to do it. This is a very good policy, PF are ashamed to take it on, they are delaying. Governance issues, he has advised Kabimba to educate our president that you can not develop the country by spending on by elections, spend on education, health, roads, technology and invest in industries. PF is naive, the cant get sense out of the young man’s intellectualism. PF be advised that your insistence on appointing ministers from the parties that very well know will cause by election is delaying the much needed development. PF you have concentrated on politicking at the expense of national development. We are watching
