What Does The Declaration Of Zambia As A Christian Nation Mean

OXYGEN VOLUME 13I want to explain the issue of declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation in simple terms so that people can understand what is involved in the declaration.

When Zambia was declared as a Christian nation, what it meant was that we chose God to be the Lord of our Nation Zambia. In other words it is like when a country aligns it self to a super power like United Kingdom (UK), it doesn’t mean that automatically that nation becomes a super power or it becomes developed, no.

What it implies is that; that nation will have some privileges from the nation it aligns it self to, e.g. receiving aid from that nation in form of financial, security and material things.

It is the same with our declaration we have now aligned our selves to God the creator of heaven and earth.  We will benefit from Jehovah God as children benefit from a parent. He is now our father (the father of the nation Zambia).

Some people complain that a Christian nation shouldn’t have such things like murder, defilements, assault cases, adultery, divorce cases etc.

Declaration in itself is not deliverance; deliverance and accepting Jesus as your personal savior are the only processes which changes people from their wicked ways to righteous people.

Murder, defilements, assault cases, adultery, divorce cases etc, can only be removed from the society through prayer and preaching of the word like in the book of Jonah 3:4 – 7  And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day`s walk. Then he cried out and said, “Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown”. 5. So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.

God forgave them because they fasted and cried to God. Jonah 3: 10 then God saw their works that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them and he did not do it.

Without works like above it is difficult to remove wickedness from our land Zambia. Let us work together to cry to God and preach so that we can eliminate wickedness and live in a nice and peaceful country.

In Exodus 3: 7 the bible says, and the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their task masters, for I know their sorrows” (New Kings James version – the Gideons).

The Lord actually refers to children of Israel as My people, if you go further in reading the bible you will learn that the same people rebelled against God by making a calf and called it their god. The people Jehovah God called my people were not righteous (without sin), hence God`s people were contaminated but Jehovah God still called them my people.

It is the same with Zambians, we are God`s people even though there are sinful people in our midst. God will come to rescue us when we face problems. He will not let us continue being troubled by any one. Israelites faced many enemies but they won almost all the battles because their God was with them. We will win all the battles (poverty, economic problems, unemployment etc) because our God is with us.

In  chronicles 7: 14 the bible says, “ if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways ,then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (New Kings James version – the Gideons).

Here the Lord is again referring to Christians (Zambians inclusive) that his people should humble themselves and pray. The Lord is saying His people should turn away from their wicked ways. This means that some God`s people were wicked and God was commanding them to turn from their evil ways that is when God will forgive them and heal their Land.

It is the same in Zambia there is wickedness in some people, despite such we are a proud Christian nation. All the Lord is asking from His people is to do what is written on 2 chronicles 7:14 and then we will receive more blessings from the Lord.

Having sinful acts in the nation doesn’t disqualify Zambia from being a Christian Nation. It is a Christian nation, Christians should pray and preach the word to those who need salvation.

May the Lord richly Bless Zambians in Jesus Name.

The declaration proves that Zedians are easy to be tricked and manupilated.
Deception is a classic theme in politics. Kafupi was very much aware of that!!

Zambia isn’t and can’t be a christian nation. You can’t just put a tag on your head and proclaim yourself a Christian, you have got to prove you live by the high moral standards Jesus Christ set for aspirants. Very very few Christians in Zambia do so and they are an absolute minority, numbered in the lower thousands. The vast majority of Christians are hypocrites whose pastors and bishops are forever in the limelight for wrong reasons.

It would be reasonable if you declared you are a secular society, which is a more diplomatic way of saying you belong to Satan and not the Almighty God.

Sylvester, I think you were born after 1991, if not you were a toddler then. It was President Chiluba who first declared Zambia a Christian nation. (I am comfortable calling it a hypochristian nation) Before that it was a secular state and the problems you have mentioned, like poverty and unemployment were much lower – only we had to queue for essential commodities like sugar and cooking oil. Since many people were in employment then, we had very few of these self-acclaimed pastors and reverends like you. Things started down-turning in Chiluba’s so-called Christian Nation. To-date, things are going from bad to worse. My friend, that word “Christian” is so sacred and if you are really a man of God, you better stop mentioning it in political affairs.

People do not become Christians by presidential declarations or by having it in the constitution that we are a Christian nation. Christians are made by God when they are made to see their sins in heart and life and cry out to God for His salvation. Presidential declarations do not purify anyone from sin. No they do not. Christ has come to change hearts, yours and mine included. There is sin and sinners everywhere and Christ has come to do away with this sin. If anything these declarations just make people worse and hypocrites. We are not more of a Christian nation than where these declarations have been absent. My dear God has his people in all over the globe just as he has in mother Zambia. He has chosen for Himself a people from every nation, from all classes of men and women without exception. Some of the most devout Christians I have met are from places people think are the most ungodly or dominated by Islam. The LORD knows those who are HIS because he has made them so. They are not manufactured by presidents or in constitutions but born again through the preaching of the word of GOD and they are changed from inside out. That is why preachers must not turn into politicians but concentrate on preaching God’s word so that many may be turned.

    Former Christian,
I think you have a wrong percetion about christian declaration. Zambia is a secular state because we tolarate all religions. Christianity is about tolarance and forgiveness but Islam is a fascist religion, if there are no whores and thieves in muslim counties, how come they are beheading men and stoning women almost everyday in Saudi Arabia?. Muslims are worst hypocrites, they have allow men to have a harem of women and allow men and women to get stoned on hashish and Kat, while they blame alcohol.

The church is not national but universal. There is no way you can call Zambian as God’s people. it does not make any sense in the theology of the Bible.

One reason many fail to appreciate the status of Zambia as a Christian nation is the ignorance of what a christian is. He is simply a saved sinner.Nowonder Paul taught the Ephesians to work out their salvation with fear and trembling.Somewhere in his leeter to the Corinthians he teachers the beliver using the picture of one who runs a race being careful not to be found wanting in any way.Zambia is a christian nation on account of the desire by its people to align themselves to the name of God.The responsibility to live uprightly is yours ba “wantanshi” not the declaration.God will judge me on account of how I lived my life.Sin remains the chief enemy of progress in Christianity for the individual.Unlike the quoted religious examples, Christianity is not Christianity if it is forced on you to live a certain way.It will be told to you how you should live based on the teachings of the Bible.Bantalamisoka naba mumbimunda will forver live among us for as long as we remain human beings created the way we have been created.

All have sinned and our righteousnes are as filthy rags before the sight of God. We comment out of hatred or dislike and our mouths bring curses upon ourselves. We are your people created in your image but we are just human beings and not perfect. Forgive our evil tongues that are digging our own graves by our negative confessions and blind anger.

For the sake of the few that worship you in truth and Spirit, LORD FORGIVE ZAMBIA. As Christians and as men and women of God, we have stumbled people. Help us rise up and turn to you for you are our only hope. We have sinned and we ask for your forgiveness O God.

Declaration of Zambia as a christian means we acknowledge him lord over this nation, his protection, his mercy, his grace, his love. A declaration does make everyone a christian.Christianity is not a religion,it is a life-style.It is different from Islam or other religion.David committed adultery and murder but God calls him friend.God sovereign,he does not think the way we do because he is God.Our God is the only true God.It’s either you are for God or against him.

Those who call themselves Jews are descendents of Canaanites.

Chapters 4 – 6 “The Book of Adam and Eve” also called “The Conflict of Adam and Eve with Satan” S.C. Malan
        .
“Then after this Judah took to himself a wife whose name was habwadiya, that means, “house-wife” but in the law her name is Sewa. She was of a Caananitish family, and Jacobs heart suffered much on that account;and he said to Judah his son who had married that wife, “The God of Abraham and of Isaac will not allow the seed of this Canaanitish woman to mingle with my seed. But some days after this, Sewa bare three sons unto Judah, whose names were Er, Onan and Selah. And when Er was grown up, Judah married him, his first born son, unto a woman named Tamar, daughter of Kadesh Levi.
        .
And Er continued with her a long time, and behaved after the men of Sodom and Gomorrah. But God looked down upon his evil deeds and killed him.
        .
Then Judah married his son Onan to Tamar, saying, “He shall raise seed unto his brother.” But him also did God kill because of his evil deeds; on account of Jacobs curse, “That no Canaanitish seed should mingle with his own.” So God would not let any of it mingle with that of Jacob the righteous. Therefore did Tamar go to Judah her father-in-law, who had intercourse with her, not knowing she was his sons wife; and she bare unto him twins, Pharez and Zarah.” [Genesis 38:6-30]
        .
After this Jacob went to Joseph, and continued fourteen years in the land of Egypt, where he died at the age of one hundred and fifty-seven; when the good Joseph was fifty-three years old.
        .
Then when he was dead, Joseph called cunning Egyptian embalmers, who embalmed him beautifully; and then Joseph carried his body to the land of Canaan [Shems inheritance ], and buried him in the sepulchre of his fathers Abraham and Isaac.
        .
After this Pharez begat Judah, and Judah begat Ezrom, and Ezrom begat Aram; and Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson.
        .
And this Naasson was great among the sons of Judah; and the daughter of Aminadab married Eleazar the son of Aaron, who prayed to God until His wrath abated.
        .
Thus, O my son I have told you the genealogies from the first until now.
        .
After this there began to issue a race from Naasson, who was great among the sons of Judah; and from him began a kingdom and a priesthood, and the Jews became celebrared through him.
        .
Then Naasson begat Salmon, and Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab. And thou must know that from Boaz and Ruth the Moabitess, began the Kingdom whereby Lot, the son of Abrahams brother, obtained a share [in the generations] of the kingdom [of Judah]…..”

“And Peter opening his mouth said, On truth I perceive that God is not a receiver of faces, but in every nation the one fearing Him and working righteousness is acceptable to him.” Acts 10:33-35

    Paul’s ancestry was of Benjamin

Paul’s religion was of Judah, that is, he was, by religion, a Jew until he saw the light.

Paul’s nationality was of the Kingdom of Judah, which was politically composed of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin, and part of Levi

Christs disciples were Benjamites bar one that being Judas who was a Jew by ancestry.

As there are no physical descendents of Christ there cannot exist in the flesh an elite group called “Gods Chosen People”.

……………..But after the birth of Christ there remained no more trustworthy reckoning of kindred to the Jews. For Christ was the end of generations; He took it and gave it to us. [The Book of Adam and Eve - Malan, Amazon Books]

John 20:28 “And Thomas answered and said to Him, My Lord and my God”.

Matthew 7:16 “You shall know them by their fruits…” Jesus in the New Testament is called “the First Fruits [1 Corinthians 15:23].

During His Passover Supper, Jesus referred to the New Covenant [Hebrews 8:6 - 13].

A few days before He had told the chief priests and Pharisees, “The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof ” [Matthew 21:43] and “Behold, your house is left unto you desolate” [Matthew 23:38].

Christ was the Mediator of our New Covenant, which came into force at His death [Hebrews 9:15 - 17].

Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you rejected the knowledge….”

Arabs are Semites – Genesis chapter 21.
    .
Palestine — Shems Allotment — Taken by Force by Canaan, a Son of Shems’ Brother, Ham
    .

“But whereas Ham, Cush and Mitaraim took possession of the land fallen to them by lot, Canaan took with violence, possession of the land he coveted, along the sea-shore. His brothers remonstrated with him, and told him he would be accursed for having taken a lot that belonged to Shem and had not fallen to him. But he would not hearken to them; and dwelt in the land from Hamath to Egypt.” [Ibid. pp.44, 45.]

For more precise details see:- “The Book of Jubilees.” Rev George H. Schodde’s translation from the Ethiopic —- Ch.8…… “This portion came by lot for Shem and his sons that, they should possess it for ever unto his generations for evermore.”

A Semite is anyone who has descended from Shem, one of Noahs three sons. Shem is the ancestor of Abram/Abraham. Judah is a descendent of Shem and is thus a descendent of “Abram” to whom promises were made [Genesis 15:18-20] and Shems’ seeds include the other tribes of Israel and the Ishmaelites—-the Arabs. Genesis 17:7-8.

Abram later became Abraham [Genesis 17:5-6] ——– “But the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his Seed — it does not say, And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, “And to thy Seed”, which is Christ” Galatians 3:16., Genesis Ch.17., 21:12 [The actual origin of the term "anti-Semitism" is credited to German author Wilhelm Marr who wrote, in 1879, a book entitled "The Victory of Judaism Over Germany." ]

Revelation 9:19 “For their authority is in their mouth and in their tails, for the tails of them have heads like snakes and together being violate law.” [a literal translation]

From “The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion” excerpt from Protocol 3. “Today I tell you that our goal is only a few steps off. There remains a small space to cross and the whole long path we have trodden is ready now to close its cycle of the Symbolic Snake, by which we symbolise our people.”
