I’m very disappointed to see women put on pf chitenges all the way from Zesco to Manda Hill. I don’t know about other places but I have been to this place this morning. Is this a day for a political party or for women? They are not supposed to put on chitenge for Pf because this is not a day for celebrating a political party.
Even if that was the case, this is not a one party state, where are all stakeholders.
The PF has distributed thousands of Pf chitenges to women, the cost amounting to hundreds of millions and above all using taxpayers’ money.
International women’s day is a worldwide day and I see not point of women matching in in PF Regalia. Where is the opposition?
AS far as I respect the Pf this kind of leadership/behavior is totally unaccepted. International women’s day is supposed to be a celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women and a woman’s achievement. But this day in Zambia is now getting compromised by politicians and will eventually lose its dignity.
Even those women can also be blamed. They are bribed with a chitenge and they lose focus; that’s your special day and you are supposed to celebrate your womanhood but instead you are celebrating a political party, it will finally be meaningless to hold women’s day.
I hope you’ll realize the importance of this day.
Happy women’s day.

@Tonga bull…. Your reasoning leaves much to be desired. Your insults to the pf govt will not in any way make your day. HE MC is the Republican President of Zambia. Please respect Our beloved President. Just imagine if hypothetically some 1 was to insult you how would you feel?

Sometimes there is a simple answer to certain situations, lets call it that shall we.
What if, just a thought! no other party thought of doing the same thing on time?
hey! just something to think about

well said nostalgia.
Lets not concern ourselves with such minor issues. So what if the women are walking around in PF vitenges, or did you want PF to give out UPND or MMD vitenges?

This is a women’s day which comes once each year and to be celebrated in respective styles freely without any personal/political interference. To me chitenge regalia means liberty no commands attached unlike some political parties intimidating and squizing women from participating freelly violeting gendar, gendar from gaining momentum…immagine how it would have looked women in PF,NAREP,UPND,MMD etc dancing together ?it was going to show unity and maturity in a christian nation full of frustrated individuals. so let us blame some political leaders for stopping there women to practicing one zambia one nation though with different political ideas…

its not jst there, am seeing the same thing here in solwezi. if truly this day iz meant to celebrate womanhood then i see no reason as to why ladies shud involve politics in it. world wide its being celebrated n am certain they are doin it without the involvement of politic. imagine my 11years old nephew askin if the president was coming here bcoz of the pf chitenges ladies were putn on. if a young boy cn spot the error. were then are we heading to? the materil must v cost a fortune. pliz stop this foolishness n focus on making sure we do nt luck mealie meal

I personally applaud the PF for running the government in a more mature manner and for the various projects embarked on countrywide. However this is not to say everything the’re doing is right the wrongs of yesterday must not be repeated today, learn to call a spade a spade.
No politicks on Freedomday,Youth day,Womens day, Fathers day etc.Such collocial, stonage, achaic and mediocre politicks went with the MMD.

I was there and p.f (power failure) women were the majority like army worms, it was just so disgusting coz u could tell that they were just picked from the streets. When we tried to get a group photo, the pf women had to call the police to tell us to move coz ‘apparently’ we were blocking them from there view to watch the traditional dancrs. Can’t wait for 2016.

You need to learn that to have your opinion respected it needs to be written in a way that commands respect. Poor vocabulary simply presents you as an illiterate. Who wants to pay attention to an illiterate?

What on on government which can only do such on on waste of money. Here ksm mealie_meal problem has affected kaputa, nsumbu and many more districts.

MMD AND UPND BOYCOTTED THE CELEBRATIONS. THAT WAS WHY YOU DID SEE THEM AND IN THEIR REGALIA BECAUSE THEY WERE THREATENED BY THEIR LEADERS. AS FOR PF WOMEN, WOMEN’S DAY ALSO INVOLVES THE RIGHT OF WOMEN TO CHOOSE AND PF WOMEN CHOSE TO WEAR THEIR REGALIA JUST LIKE THE POLICE, SOLDIERS, NGOCC ETC ALL WERE IN THEIR ATTIRE. IN WESTERN PROVINCE UPND WOMEN DEFIED THE BOYCOTT AND WERE IN THEIR PARTY REGALIA AS WELL. WHAT IS EATING YOU UP CONCERNED ZAMBIAN AND TONGA BULL? TODAY WAS THEIR DAY AND IF SOME WOMEN CHOSE TO WEAR PF CHITENGES WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM? IS IT NOT THE PF WHO HAS GIVEN US THE FIRST WOMAN CHIEF JUSTICE? THE FIRST WOMAN IG? THE FIRST WOMAN DIRECTOR OF ACC? AND SO ON? YOUR HATRED FOR PF IS REALLY EATING YOU UP. BE PREPARED TO GO MAD BECAUSE PF IS IN GOVERNMENT FOR THE NEXT 20 OR MORE YEARS!!!!

Dress code not an issue on such a day knowing we have so many organisations around the country. As Zambians, we need to look into matters critically before commenting. If at all comments should be passed, let them come out with the vigour due instead of talking lightly about important issues.

HAPPY MEN’S DAY”
For the 1st time something on a MAN, Do read it
Who is a MAN?
A man is the most beautiful part of God’s creation who starts compromising at a very tender age.
He sacrifices his chocolates 4 his sister.
He sacrifices his dreams 4 just a smile on his parents face.
He spends his entire pocket money on buying gifts 4 the girl he loves just 2 see her smiling
He sacrifices his full youth 4 his wife & children by working late @ night without any complaint.
He builds their future by taking loans from banks & repaying them 4 lifetime.
He struggles a lot & still has 2 bear scolding from his mother, wife & boss.
His mother, wife & boss all try 2 control him.
His life finally ends up only by compromising 4 others happiness.
Respect every male in your life.
U will never know what he has sacrificed 4U.
Worth sending 2 every man 2 make him smile & every woman 2 make her realize his worth!!

i disagree with this article, because not every woman was dressed in the PF chitenge material.Perhaps the author may have come at the time when PF women were passing by.even though if they choose to put on PF chitenge would you be offended by that.make me understand,is there any force behind their actions?O n TV i saw FDD and NAREP women puting on their chitenge.whatis your position about this?
Mr author you worries me so much.why?you are peddling the devils wish to put this country on flames.Mind you take time to reflect on the Syrian comflict.it started small with little brains like yours and it blew up.now no one knows how to stop it.Foreigners will hijack this country and there will be no hope of peace for many years to come.If you are a normal reasoning human being pliz refrain at all costs publishing such articles.thank you and God Bless You All.

Every organisation of reputable standing in society will organise it’s women from it’s inner ranks for such an occasion.I would be very surprised to see Zesco paying marketeers and other women from the streets, like was the case in Linda compound yesterday just to have an increased and intimidating presence.I wonder how many such women were coming from high-cost and Medium cost areas.
We’re free 2 speak our mind,we’ve passed through many hands of leadership, from an abusive one party state through stubborn authorities of Chiluba and RB and we’ve always spoken. Who are to shut us up??
