YOU SPEND MONEY TO MAKE MONEY. THE PREVIOUS GOVERNMENTS HAVE BEEN AVOIDING SPENDING MONEY ON MARKETING ZAMBIA’S TOURISM THINKING TOURISTS WILL COME TO ZAMBIA WITHOUT KNOWING ZAMBIA- FUULISH THINKING. ZAMBIA MUST NOW START LOOKING TO MASSIVELY IMPROVING COMMUTER TRANSPORT IN ALL TOURIST TOWNS BY INTRODUCING DECENT BUSES ON CITY/TOWN ROADS WHICH ENCOURAGE FAMILY DISABLED PEOPLE COMMUTING. WHICH MEANS BIGGER AND LONGER BUSES WITH ENOUGH ROOM FOR WHEELCHAIRS, BUGGIES AND SHOPPING RECEPTACLES WHERE SHOPPERS PUT THERE SHOPPING WHILE THEY ARE COMFORTABLY SEATED OR STANDING ON A BUS. THESE BUSES WILL LARGELY ENCOURAGE FAMILY AND GROUP TOURISM.

ZAMBIA IS A JOKING COUNTRY. LIVINGSTONE STILL HAS POTHOLES AND SAME DIRTY BUILDINGS AND NO NEW ROADS AS PROPHESISED BY THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM.

You reap where you sow. Those who will be aflicted by a fraction of tourists coming to Zambia, can be considered fools in advance. We need the money. Laws can be put in place and they are there to deal with pervets, drug traffickers etc so, tekanyeni fye, muleke nokulandalanda.

I welcome tourism, but it must be for the benefit of the citizens, not an international publicity stunt. The beneficiaries from the increased tourism will be the tourists, they will want good hotels and game parks, most of them run by foreign institution which will then remit the proceeds back to their countries.

The risk the increased tourism will pose to citizens is increased drug trafficking, pornography and sexual trade, vices which the country has no structured way of dealing with.

After over 40 years of independence we have learnt nothing.

Is this really a priority over investment in Health, Education, Employment and housing?
