Woman Has 5 Brother Husbands, Sleeps With A Different One Each Night
Rajo Verma, 21, lives in a one-room shack with all five, sleeping with a different one each night on a rota. The housewife has no idea which one is the father of her toddler son. She said: “Initially it felt a bit awkward. But I don’t favour one over the other.”
Husband Guddu, 21 – the first to make her his bride insisted: “We all have sex with her but I’m not jealous. We’re one big happy family.” Guddu and Rajo got married in an arranged Hindu marriage four years ago and he remains her only official spouse.
But the custom in their village is she had to take as husbands his brothers Bajju, 32, Sant Ram, 28, Gopal, 26, and Dinesh – who married her last year when he turned 18.
Eldest brother Bajju said: “I consider her my wife and sleep with her like my brothers.” Rajo cooks, cleans and looks after 18-month-old Jay while her hubbies go out to work in Dehradun, northern India.
She said of the ancient tradition, called polyandry: “My mother was also married to three brothers so when I got wed I knew I had to accept all of them as my husbands.
“I sleep with them in turn. We don’t have beds, just lots of blankets on the floor.
“I get a lot more attention and love than most wives.”

One man one wife and vice versa.I believe India is one of the most populated countries in the world.Surely,these men can find a woman each for themselves.Certain traditional practices must be dealt away with.It’s not a question of recieving too much attention and love.Look at morality and your life span as a woman.Sibayopa kadoyo.

I wonder if you would have said the same thing if it was a man with 5 wives!!! Remember that what a man can do, a woman can do better. Congrats to this lady – she has a good variety to choose from because one can not live on bread alone or eat the same kind of meat each and every day – this tradition should be adopted by zambian women

This is good, I wish it was in Zambia. I would not have been divorced because out of more than one man, I would have remained with one, two or three. Such traditions are very good. Indians have created a wife shortage for themselves since they prefer male children to female ones. Fetoes are aborted as soon as they discover it is that of a girl. As a result they are suffering by waiting for each to have a go at one woman.

It would be fair if the Zambian law allowed men to marry more than one wife. Some women remain single due to shortage of men and as a result they just visit them at night. Most of them at bayopa akazi awo.

Please read Sociology. This Practice is called Polyandry. It is a practice of one woman marrying more than one husband. The direct opposite of Polygamy. In this case men take turns to service the woman. If she has 7 husbands it means one man allocated a day. If she falls pregnant, the child will take the mums surname and each man will be responsible to sponsor the needs of the child until it grows. In Architecture we study this just in case you are required to design a house or homestaed for such a family.
In Cameroun, there is a region where once a man marries a woman, she can be services by the brothers as well. So one Camerounian brought a White woman, to his compound, and each of his brothers wanted a share. There was Dust in the Compound.
In Northern Nigeria, there is a tribe, where if your friend comes visiting for the night then you have to release the madam to entertain and keep him company for all nights he stays in your home. Again a friend of one of these guys visited from the South, and in the night his friend released madam to go and entertain. But the visitor refused to accept because the woman was his friends wife. She came back complaining to the husband that his friend was very rude and she didn’t want him around. So she told the husband to talk to him about his behaviour.
