WYNTER Kabimba says opposition political parties need a serious healing process before they can accept to engage anybody for dialogue.
Commenting on the three church mother bodies’ readiness to facilitate an all-inclusive and genuine national indaba to address the current political rifts, Kabimba who is PF secretary general and justice minister said the opposition must go through a healing process of their conscience if genuine dialogue was to take place.“Once they have gone through that healing process, then they will realize that there is a government in place. They don’t seem to realize or accept that now. Let them deal with that aspect of bitterness and begin to respect the government of the day. The reason why they have ignored our calls in the past to engage us if they had problems is because they have not gone through that healing process because they have not accepted that we are the party in power…,” Kabimba said.
He urged the opposition to do an introspection and find out what was wrong.
“…And they will realise that they have not been able to accept the decision of the Zambian people. The opposition wants to give an impression that the people of Zambia made a mistake by voting for the PF. They did not. They knew what they were doing so it is up to the opposition to deal with that aspect of bitterness in themselves in respect of the decision that was taken by the Zambian people,” Kabimba said.
He said the PF had no objection to the call by the three church mother bodies but that the call should go to the opposition.
“We have extended that invitation to them. What is it that they want? So instead of speaking to us through Johannesburg, they should speak to us directly as the government. But for them to be going round maligning us, they are the ones that are causing the rift by holding press briefings outside the country and insulting the leadership of this government. So instead of these guys hopping all over the world or talking to nobody, they must engage us if they have got issues. They decide, however, that they would rather speak to Mr Robert Amsterdam instead of speaking to us,” said Kabimba.
During a briefing at Kapingila House in Lusaka of Friday, the Zambia Episcopal Conference (ZEC),
Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) and the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) indicated that they were saddened at the culture of political violence in Zambia.
They urged the government to avoid giving threats and using decrees in leading the nation.
“Our nation today stands at the crossroads and we are in a crisis,” they stated. “We urge the government to quickly engage their colleagues in the opposition when dealing with critical national issues. True democrats win support by means of political persuasion rather than crashing those with opposing views.”

Exactly! This is what is surprising! And I’m thinking they going lose a time going by the they are doing things. winter is power hungry and it is such people who care less about people. In the process, a lot of people will suffer. This type of behavior can be quite costly for the party.
We see the unseen; Kabimba can only see the physical. That is the difference. What is is pleasing to today’s eyes may be catastrophic tomorrow. If so much darkness surrounds a being it simply means the presence of evil outnumbers goodness.
My thinking… He was better off in the back. Period!

Salute who? Both the ruling and opposition need healing from where I’m standing. Kabimba needs more seats before he can rest; the opposition have lost direction and need to heal from that.
But most importantly, it is the people in power that should be contented with what they have and apply the resources where it needs to be… So much is lost during campaigns. Now with the absence of the opposition (as they take leave to heal), it is you and me that should be in the opposition as citizens and ensure that there balance of power in the country.
MMD, UPND and the rest will not do it for us way am looking at things.

Hate or no hate Kawimba is talking sense. The opposition are butchering themselves. Whether Kawimba is sick or not but is talking what is on the ground. The truth is, he is a very good and powerful mobiliser than any secretary general of any party.
