MMD To Boycott Kapiri Mposhi/Lukulu West Parliamentary By-Elections
The opposition Movement for Multi-Party Democracy-MMD-will not take part in the Kapiri Mposhi and Lukulu West Parliamentary by-elections slated for April twenty third this year.
The party has cited loss of confidence in the Electoral Commission of Zambia and alleged election rigging by the ruling Patriotic Front as some of the reasons for not participating in the two by-elections.
Speaking at press briefing held in Lusaka this afternoon, MMD president Nervous Mumba also announced that his party will only ever participate in any by-election if the ECZ is transformed in an independent, neutral and more credible institution.
Dr. Mumba noted his party is yet to decide whether to support another opposition political party in the two by-elections.
He noted that as for now his party will concentrate on preparing for the 2016 general elections.
Dr. Mumba also told journalists that his party will next week discipline some Members of Parliament that are allegedly jeopardizing the party.

Why boycott?That’s why you are maiking it easy for the ruling aprty to push forward their programs and projects. When you boyott or walk out of parliament, you are not achieving anything. Instead you are losing out.

Is that really the reason why you are boycotting? It seems to me that MMD has lamentably lost popularity, hence the decision to chicken out under the pretext ECZ is compromised in favour of PF.Niboza chabe! Little wonder you only managed to win one by election out of many you contested, which was actually a sympathetic vote out of respect for the late Vice President George Kunda. Under your leadership sir, the party is headed downward.Mark my word, yours is a sinking ship.

Ba Nervous stop telling ubufi, just say you have no funds as a party especially that RB is busy with his own matters. Workhard and raise funds take time and ask SATA how he was mobilising PF funding.

BA Mumba your party has gone bankrupt because of the many court cases.You are creating more numbers in parliament for PF and this will make it difficult for you to oppose anything in Parliament.
You should be strategic in your quest to build the MMD as an opposition,otherwise you will go into extinction sooner than you think.

I feel it Mumba is not telling the truth. The party is not popular now and he wants to help UPND in that area by not fielding a candidate, his voters will opt for HH. That will not work. Pastor the truth shall set you free.

Read his complete speech. He says the PF are using a named rigging system which was devised by MMD in 1998 wen sata was secretary general. Wow! What a shocker! This Fooool has just admitted that the MMD was involved in heavy duty rigging. This is good grounds to petition the remaining MMD seats. He thot he would gain public sympathy by disclosing this, when he has only just shot himself in the ballzzzz! And, what ever happened to ‘he punches me at 8 o clock, i punch him at 9.
