Arrows Win Delights Lwandamina

Red Arrows coach George Lwandamina relieved to get first league win of the season after Sundays 1-0 win over Zanaco.

A fifth minute goal in the opening first half of the match scored by Lubinda Mundia lifted Arrows from 10th to fourth place on four points after two matches played in the 2013 MTN/FAZ Super Division season.

“They knew what was stake because if we want to be in contention we cannot be drawing all the time,” Lwandamina said.

Arrows win comes a week after rallying twice against guests Nchanga Rangers on March 23 to finish 2-2 at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

And Arrows win over Zanaco on Sunday handed them their third successive away league win over the latter since 2011.

Arrows win also puts them just two points behind leaders Kalulushi Modern Stars ahead of this weekend’s visit to promoted Kabwe Warriors who have three points and in eighth position.

Meanwhile Lwandamina remained confident Zanaco still had a chance against Orlando Pirates in the CAF Champions League despite their current woes.

“Zanaco are a good side they have to lift their heads. I am sure they will do a better job,” Lwandmina said.
