UNITED Kingdom-based Zambian light-middleweight boxer, Michael Norgrove died in a London hospital at the weekend, six days after he collapsed in the ring during a non-title fight against Tom Bowen.
The 31-year-old pugilist had an exquisite record of five wins from his five professional fights and was on his way to victory in his last bout before the referee Jeff Hinds stopped the bout after noticing ‘something unusual’ about Norgrove.
He later collapsed and was rushed to hospital where he was found to have a clot in the brain and underwent an operation but never recovered.
Both the British Board of Boxing Control (BBBC) and fellow boxer Phil Gill ,who attended Norgrove’s last fight, confirmed the death.
He collapsed on March and died last Saturday April 6.

Please, it is not a Zambian boxer! it is a Zambian-born boxer.
