‘We Must Change The Way We Look At Homosexual, Most Zambian Djs Are Gay’
Dear editor,
I would like to comment on the latest arrest of a gay activist by police, I don’t condemn the action by police as homosexuality is Illegal in Zambia, but lets face the facts,gays and lesbians are born like that,you cant change someones sexual choice, I am not gay, I’m happily married to a woman but I don’t support what most people in this country think of gays and lesbians, we have them in our families, churches, work places you name it, We will never get rid of these people, and the blame on the west is not true, I personally interviewed a few in Chelston are and I have come to believe that they are a lot, some get married to opposite sex for fear of embarrassment but they still enjoy same sex with their partners.
I know of female radio djs in Lusaka and copper-belt who are publicly lesbians though some got married to males but their marriages don’t last. According to scientific research women have more chances of falling in love with a fellow woman than than falling in love with a man.
Ask girls who have been in boarding school. Most of them have had a sexual relationship with a female,to them they don’t find it disgusting, its only when we think of men having sex with fellow men, also Zambia been a christian nation does not make it that every citizen has to follow Christianity. Some people don’t have to believe in God, Christianity is a personal decision so don’t bring the bible when trying to justify that because not every one is a believer.

Fantastic – at least we have some people who think with their heads in Zambia (as opposed to those who write from emotion).
Gays and lesbians – like all sinning humans – are most welcome to live their lives freely in this country without fear of persecution.
I salute the writer of this article. Some of you your sons are gay – they fear coming out – next thing they will be raping young boys. Let’s stop this burying our heads in the sand – we all know the homosexuality that goes on in villages and all male and all female boarding schools, prisons, churches – the list is endless

because it is a Christian nation and a democracy at the same time, it means one is free not to follow christianity – right/wrong??? It means one can choose to be a muslim, Bhuddist, Hindu or atheist

@ Stigma – Zambia is a democracy. If one chooses not to believe in God, then they have the right to not be Christian….Christianity should not be force-fed to everyone.

@ 911 – remember that Jesus was once persecuted. Christians were once persecuted for believeing in God.
You can insult all you want, but this change is un-stoppable – mark my words. Besides, you live amongst adulterers, fornicators, alcoholics, gluttons and here you are persecuting others – SHAME on you. Supposing your own husband or son is actually gay, what will you do?

Your workmates, your churchmates, your own relatives, maybe even your own son – some are gay, they are just scared to come out….why are you so backward kanshi!!!! Not everyone belives in God, so your quoting of scriptures is not relevant to this debate. The same God you quote – God loves ALL humans, and here you are claiming to be a devoted Christian but in the same sentence condemn fellow humans. i personally facilitated the dismissal of a gay chap from employment coz of similar activities. our organisation was well known for having 1 chap having sex with other men! he started indoctrinating his foolish behaviour in weaker vessels! he was fairly rich by zambian standard who cud afford 10 beers/day for 30 days non-stop! we fired the chap. no regrets

The best answer lies in looking at nature. Core principle of nature is continuity which is only possible by the presence of male and female organs/s…….You will never see a bulldog screwing a bulldog and a hen screwing a hen. What about a lionness mating a lionness. Then why do humans who are considered to be in control seem to be enjoying laying his own sex? So looking at nature in its natural way is the answer to the pervertion we are seeing. Perverts need healing. Stop marketing perverts.

the dj in question is former radio phoenix miles .mzamose zulu,who was once married to a uk based zambian guy,marriege of the belly..then another copperbelt based dj also a rastafarian like miles,2from unza radio 3 from here at hone,these are common lesbians and are in long relationships with females

I bet to differ with the assumption that is being made by the writer that gays are born like that. This not only misinformation but the worst distortion that can be. One thing that we should know is that humans are born sexual. that is the more reason why you have an erection on 1 week old baby. How ever what we do with that sexuality is learnt over time. This happens through our interaction with the things and people in our environment. This shape the kind of personality one will have in future. Our association or lack of association will lead us to behave in a particular way. If we are found among men and this urge catches up man will have alternatives.these include sodomising or masturbating. The more you do this the more accustomed you become and tend to prefer this. Any other orientation you will get you will find strange. This in itself is the pervasion in ones personality. This is a sickness which should be treated like any other pervasion. Such alcoholism, Paedophilia, Crematoria, and many other disorders. So to say we are born with it is wrong. It is acquired due to lack in the other.

we knew of late radio phoenix dj mumba sikumba was a lesbian,not only was she a lesbian but she came out and suppoted it openly,we had dj miles mzamose zulu also of radio phoenix and unza radio,thou she was married but she is a known lesbian at her days at unza radio and radio phonix,then another current male dj also of phonix,he is bisexual as he takes both men and women,we have a few at hone fm and one rastafrian at another copperbelt based private radio,but many hide but are seen at some famouse places at arcades with thier ‘boyfriends’ or ‘girlfriends’we all know them

homosexuality is a genetic defect that happens at conception. 90% of gays have no control over their sexual orientation. very few learn it thru socialisation (diferencial association) you can rape a lesbian 100 times but it wont change her sexual orientation. i feel for those guys coz they cant appreciate sex as all of us who are straight do. these people are sick the best you can do is to pray for them and not demonise them. even your precious daughter may just turn out to be lesbian and you cant do anything to change it.
